COPO deal?
Check it out fellows. At that price it's not going to last long, if real.

Works for me.
|
Saw the original listing for $17k (last Monday)when it was less than a day old and sent to my brother thinking it was possible COPO. He contacted the guy to go look at it and it was already gone. About an hour from my house. My guess is with quick flip and COPO claim it has the ZL2 hole.

I have a friend in transit to inspect the car after I talked with the owner last night. There is absolutely no doubt to me that it is a COPO. My friend is one hour away from the car now and the owner called him and informed him that he just received a wire for the car from another buyer sight unseen. I knew it wouldn't last long and I didn't need another project anyway.
|
You'll probably see it for sale again soon for $75K. Wonder if the $17K seller is second guessing himself.

Did anyone ever see the VIN?

Mini-tubbed with no original drivetrain.

Low entry point, but anyone who restores this car will be upside down soon enough.

And some more:
Check out our latest Barn Find! 1969 Camaro with 17,000 original miles! I am pretty sure it is a COPO. I have not confirmed 100% but very close. Factory 4 speed. X44. All original paint. Very cool car. It is Forsale at Gibbys. 614-40two-4199. Seller is Rick Gibson |
So it went from seller #1 advertised @ $17k, to seller #2 now advertised @ $50k? Incredible…
|
Brutal, an interesting Karma gesture is the chain of folks need to pass a few bucks (Even a Dinner!) to whomever stored this car nicely out from the elements.
It is nice to see a car not rotted out! & rescued! AWSOME! |
Based on what I'm seeing, it was priced too low at $17K. Plus never know if the seller got offers over asking price. For all the pics posted too bad there isn't one of the heater box.

Some comments said the car has a Dana 60.
What is the paint code on the trim tag, silver? |

I like it, hope it turns out to be a real COPO car. Clean it up and get it road worthy. It’ll get more attention this way than most restored cars.
|
Body # is +1 from Frost COPO N641030.
|
Yes there is no way it's not a real copo, but yes I agree after restoration a guy will spend an additional 100K. However when done you would have a rare car in a good color and I will bet you with a little detective work more information on this car will surface after all it has been in that area forever and on the race tracks so someone knows about its history. The seller told me that the lady he purchased it from has another building with parts in it and any parts in that building off of the car goes with the car. May not be anything there but stranger things have happened, might find a BE or more.

I hope everybody posts updates on this Camaro in here, great to hear what other details come to light. |

Cool find also proof yet again, they’re still out there!:headbang: Here’s the ‘67 Z28 Engine in the T-Bucket thread… https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1080496 :beers: ~ Pete . |
Tubs are a "Debbie-downer". Probably ran at KilKare back in the day. Some of the guys I've come to know from researching my car's history might remember it. Would love to see/hear more details on it for sure.
|
It has full tubs, probably a ladder bar setup. But so common for these cars that were drag raced.
I'm curious if it's original paint, that would be pretty cool. |
I'd put a stick in it and run the ba**s off it. Cool car!
|
I spoke to the owner last night, felt pretty confident it was a COPO and William's post seals the deal IMO. Would be incredible if any of the original parts are in the previous owners garage. Evidently the previous owner also had a folder of docs that the seller was supposed to be picking up.
|
Seems odd that a person would flip it that quickly when there are potentially original to the car parts and doc.s to be had.

It was sold already this afternoon……congrats to the newest owner!

Is the vin on the list or is this an unknown car?
|
Daytona Yellow on the tag no vinyl. Says all original paint. Nice deal at $17k !
|
At $50k with no original drivetrain and tubs, this makes Mick's 8,300 mile car look like a bargain.........

Mick’s car is a good deal!
Anyone confirm if subject does not have BE rear. Someone said it has a Dana, I don’t recall a pic of that |

Reportedly a Dana 60. I shared the ad pics on page 2 and this is a magnification of one of the pics, resolution is not great.
