Working on more documentation on the M-code conv. Talked to guy who knows where there is a 1961 chevy bubbletop 348 tri-power 4sd fawn beige on fawn. Its a one family, two owner all original car. 46,000 mile car. Hasn't been on the road since 1975. My source isnt into chevys so we shall see.

Re: 1966 Hemi Satellite, 23K, 4 Speed, PICTURES
Good luck on that 1961 Bubbletop....cool car. Im sorry about the confusion on the 62 Convert...I meant "M" Code. I have "G" code on the brain as I was just working on one of my 406-405 cars. Im waiting for my 1962 M Code Galaxie 500 Club Sedan(2 door post) to arrive from Oregon. Thats a wild car with its Special Order 1955 T-Bird Paint color, 390-401hp tripower, 4 speed and 4.11 gears. I just received all of the Original paperwork including the Build Sheet, Copy of the Original Title, a Letter from the Original Owner, Many old Receipts and complete owner history from Day 1. Apparently the car was supposed to be painted White and Ford took a last minute Special Order and changed the paint code to Code 358 Golden Rod Yellow which was not available on the 62 Galaxie but was a 55 T-Bird color and a 62 Ford truck color. This is one of the last "M" Code cars built before Ford went to the "G" Code 406-405. The Build sheet is really interesting on this car for sure. The car Sold New at Loud Ford in Pasadena California and was raced by its Original owner from 1962-1964 at Pomona and Irwindale Dragways....anyway, Good luck with that Chevy.......always good to hear from you....tony

Re: 1966 Hemi Satellite, 23K, 4 Speed, PICTURES
Growing up there was a guy around the corner from me who had a '67 GTX. It had a 440 w/automatic in it but it was originally a Hemi 4 speed car. The emblem on the front fender only had the word HEMI. It did not say 426 Hemi like this Satellite does. Was this the HEMI emblem just for GTX? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
I can remember he told me that someone offered him a whopping $50 a piece for the emblems. Needless to say he kept the emblems on the car. This would have been around the late 70's early 80's. He took me for a ride in it, just down the street and back..scared the crap out of me. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif BTW, cool car and good luck on the sale. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif Kurt |
Re: 1966 Hemi Satellite, 23K, 4 Speed, PICTURES
Kurt, Im not sure about the plain HEMI Emblems. Ive seen pictures of 1967 Hemi GTX's with the plain HEMI on the lower section of the front fenders but I have seen more that say 426 HEMI on the 1967 that anything else. Mopar also used an HP2 emblem on some of the early Hemi cars that you rarely see anymore. These were correct as well. The ride you took in that GTX sounds like it made a serious impression on you. Thanks for the kind remarks about the car. Im open to a real offer. Thanks, tony https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
