1 Attachment(s)
I have a set of original Big Block manifolds with smog tubbing dated C-17-9 and C-18-9 listed on ebay that were taken off 69 chevelle SS 396/375 car first week when bought new. I just aquired them from a local fellow who's brother bought car new. Here is link to item on ebay: 1969 Camaro Chevelle Nova 396 427 manifolds (like NOS) - item# 280254083979

Re: 1969 396/ 427 original exhaust manifolds like NOS!
As I read the rules copied and pasted below, you need to put a price on these.
As of July 28, 2008, here are the rules for posting in the classified section. The intent of our classified section was never to replace Ebay, but rather to allow members to exchange parts without the worries that come from buying rare and valuable parts elsewhere. Therefore, here are the rules everyone must abide by. 1. Anyone listing a part(s) must complete their profile. We need to know who you are and how to contact you. 2. All items must be priced. 3. Non-members get two free ads/posts, additional ads will require a paid membership. 4. All items will be required to carry a SATISFACTION GUARANTEE, meaning, if the buyer receives the item and is not happy, their money will be promptly refunded. |
Re: 1969 396/ 427 original exhaust manifolds like NOS!
I did not mean to cause an uproar about these manifolds. I thought I would list them on this site to see if anybody needed them. If this is causing a problem cancel this ad!!

Re: 1969 396/ 427 original exhaust manifolds like NOS!
You don't have to state a price when you link your No Reserve ebay auction here.
You did nothing wrong. |
Re: 1969 396/ 427 original exhaust manifolds like NOS!
good luck on the sale and thanks for letting us know of these manifolds....they look like a real nice set. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: 1969 396/ 427 original exhaust manifolds like NOS!
Sorry Rick, but I don't agree. A 'no reserve' auction has no set price & therefore does not meet the criteria for placing an ad here IMO. It's just a 'best offer' scenario. Parts or cars, these are rules that have been established by Tom in order to avoid any misunderstandings.
I think all ebay ads referenced here need a 'buy it now' or reserve price listed here, or just leave it on ebay....that's fair https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif |

Re: 1969 396/ 427 original exhaust manifolds like NOS!
Matt, my statement is not really about these parts, but about ebay ads in general that are referenced here without a firm BIN/reserve price.
I see no reason that a member can't post an ebay link as long as it states... 'sYc members. the reserve on these parts is (for example) $1000. Good luck bidding'. Seems like the moderators catch the 'cars for sale' ads that aren't priced, but 'parts for sale' gets overlooked. JMO https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |

Re: 1969 396/ 427 original exhaust manifolds like NOS!
To place an ad here 'all items must be priced' per Tom's site rules. 'No reserve' ads can be shill bid by friends of the seller in order to keep the auction moving & to get the seller as much as possible (I am NOT suggesting that Robbie's having that done with these parts).
I think these are simple rules to follow which benefit the membership...list the price & you get a free ad. No price & it gets deleted. Do you remember the Olympic Gold Yenko listing https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif Anyway, I guess we need further clarification from management regarding members ebay listings & auction linkshttps://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif |

Re: 1969 396/ 427 original exhaust manifolds like NOS!
Just wanted to update everyone on my opinion about all the conflick. My ad never offered these manifolds for sale here, I just posted ebay item # for anybody that was interested in them. I am a member of this site and for the last 2 years Have seen hundreds of ebay, craigs list and other ads with item's for sale posted here. I thought members would appreciate the link to buy a rare item like these that you don't find everyday. I guess I was wrong.

[/ QUOTE ] https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif to you Robby! Other guys run "no reserve" auctions and have links to them on here and no body says squat. You did no different. I may reply to a "wanted ad" by private message, but now you see why I don't list anything for sale here. I love this site, but I don't want to put up with the petty bickering. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif |
Re: 1969 396/ 427 original exhaust manifolds like NOS!
I appreciated you posting them here. I bid on them. I HOPE you weren't wrong for letting the board know. In fact, post more of your stuff is my opinion.

Re: 1969 396/ 427 original exhaust manifolds like NOS!
I agree, post more Ebay links if they're no reserve.
I thought the new rules didn't allow anything without a price, guess I was wrong. |
Re: 1969 396/ 427 original exhaust manifolds like NOS!
Obviously, there's a difference of members opinions regarding ebay. I view them as 'I will take anyone's best offer by XX date' and without a 'satisfaction guarenteed, or your money back'.
I like the way www.moparts.com handles their ads. An ad without a price gets deleted with a polite, but firm 'no price-no ad' in place of where the ad was. However, they also have a specific thread for ebay, craigslist, racingjunk and what's it worth. Maybe this warrants looking into https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif Robbie, look at the bright side...every time we debate the issue, your ad gets bumped to the top again https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif. |
Re: 1969 396/ 427 original exhaust manifolds like NOS!
Jude...His Ebay ad is No Reserve. It asked for a opening bid of 1.00. If it had a reserve he would have to disclose it. He does not have to have a buy it now. Nothing wrong with how the ad was posted. I hope someone from the site needs and gets them.

Re: 1969 396/ 427 original exhaust manifolds like NOS!
As above, the new rules in place allow the ad as long as it's a No Reserve auction...BUT placing it here means it includes the added bonus only SYC members get of the 'satisfaction guaranteed or money cheerfully refunded' part of the rules that regular eBay buyers don't!.
