Truck, trailer,1969 Camaro stolen Super Chevy Bris
Needless to say I've had a bad weekend. I went to the Super Chevy show in Bristol TN Thursday night and when I came out Friday morning the truck, trailer, and 1969 Camaro were long gone. Hats off to the Johnson City Police dept. very professonal and actually sent 2 detectives to the motel where the items were stolen. The truck was recovered about 2 am Sunday in White Pine TN with the door and steering column destroyed, and unfortunately no signs of the car or trailer. Both the JC and White Pine police depts have stated that the car was apart by the time I woke up Friday and that it was a "professional job" that has happened repeatedly during these type events. I am happy to get the truck back since I only had liability on it and the trailer but I would love to find the car more than anything.
The car is a 1969 Rallye green Yenko clone, 427 4 speed 12 bolt rotisirie restored super super nice car. 15 x 7 troque thrust wheels. vin#124379n634786. the trailer is a 20' Pace white in color aluminum 15" wheels. Any help is appreciated and if anyone lives in the area please be on the look out for anything. I can be reached 24/7 @ 864-787-8598 Thanks Ken |

Re: Truck, trailer,1969 Camaro stolen Super Chevy Bris
This is the third or fourth car ive heard of being stolen lately, last weekend there was an NMCA race in Commerce Georgia and cars were being stolen from Georgia to South Carolina. I too would love to see these thieves hung by there balls.

Re: Truck, trailer,1969 Camaro stolen Super Chevy Bris
Here is some talk about the stolen cars:
Guys, Remember.......... they stole two race rigs two weeks ago. One in S.Carolina and the other from a motel in Commerce. (NMCA race) The "it won't happen to me" thinking is naive. We must have a system to disable the tow rig. With all the smart heads out here you surely can do kill switches, pull fuel pump relay removal, etc. These thieves know who you are and where you're going, etc. Think about it. |
Re: Truck, trailer,1969 Camaro stolen Super Chevy
That really sucks, I hope your car and trailer are found. I was planning on going to the Bristol Super Chevy show too, but with the gas shortage situation here I decided not to.

Was the car an original Rally Green car? if you have any photos of the car that may help. i know if I see anything for sale that resembles your car ...I will contact you. Let's all be on the lookout for these guys https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/mad.gif |
Re: Truck, trailer,1969 Camaro stolen Super Chevy
It is a 57 57 X44 car...
It has black Blx interior and all the cowl induction stuff... the emblems on the rear are backwards... the Yenko and the 427 are swapped one for the other... |

Re: Truck, trailer,1969 Camaro stolen Super Chevy Bris
I hate hearing this. I think I saw this car at a cruise-in in Greenville at a Chevy dealership. Nice looking car. There have been quite a few cars stolen from the Year One Experience in Brasselton Ga over the last few years.

Re: Truck, trailer,1969 Camaro stolen Super Chevy Bris
Guys, always disable your trucks when parking them w/the trailers. Whether it be ignition or fuel. By the time these a$$holes realize it after peeling the column or doing whatever it is to get the trucks started they will get baffled/frustrated and most likely leave..
Another system worth checking into is LOWJACK. This system really does work. A very small transponder is hidden on the car somewhere and uses very little battery power. When the vehicle is stolen the owner notifies LOWJACK and the Law Enforcement Agencies. Then the signal is broadcasted from the transponder and Police units with the LOWJACK receivers will pick up the signal and can track the vehicle down to its exact location whether its mobile or parked.... It can even track the vehicle down if it is inside of a trailer either moving or stationery. Also if the vehicle is hidden inside a building the signal will still be broadcasted and can be picked up. Of course nothing is 100% thief proof. I live by the old saying, "if they want it bad enough, their gonna get it." But if you can "screw with their plans", then why the hell not... Rich |

Sorry to hear this too, hopefully your car and trailer will turn up soon.

Re: Truck, trailer,1969 Camaro stolen Super Chevy Bris
Right about now I'd be thinking about setting up a sting at the next big car show. Get some guys that are hidden out of site with some cars that are not locked and or trucks that are left unlocked with the trailer with car, so there is less breakin damage. Once the guys hop into the car/or truck to steal, nab them, beat the living $%@* out of them before the police arrive. Once this sting is heard of going on at shows, the thugs won't know whether they are being watched and may think twice about going to shows.

Re: Truck, trailer,1969 Camaro stolen Super Chevy Bris
Just kind of funny that this car was stolen when just about 5 weeks prior it was involved in a wreck just down the road from the owners house.....totaled out was what was said about the car. Now it is stated that it was "rotisirie restored super super nice car", how could that be when it was just wrecked?!?!? Yea I know I just signed up on here and who am I....just a lurker who just happens to know a thing or two. Travelers Rest is a small town....and someone has a pic of the car on their phone. Two words....Insurance Fraud !!!

Re: Truck, trailer,1969 Camaro stolen Super Chevy Bris
Wannabee. That is a serious statement. If that is true has anyone told the authorities ? Where is this pic from a cell phone ?

Who wouldn't buy a matching number L-48 car with a 12 bolt& 2K in new sheetmatal installed for $2800??? Re: Truck, trailer,1969 Camaro stolen Super Chevy Bris
Well as far as how bad it was wrecked I did not get a close look at it but the people that did see it said that it was not close to drivable. I guess it was easier to have it disappear than it was to have it fixed as insurance would cover theft verses a wreck because claims of the condition of the car would be hard to verify.
I have met you a time or two and as I said before Travlers Rest is a very small town and people like to talk. |
