Why hasn't anybody spoken of the HOT new find from Craigs List. 1970 LS-6 Chevelle rag top silver with red gut. Guy bought off craigs list for $14K recently out of Ohio. Had the car SOLD last weekend for $60k but buyer backed out. Lets say some of the pictures that i have show it a tad rougher then what he is showing. Would like everyones thoughts.

Rixls6 and I were discussing this LS6. Rough alright!!!! But I`m sure someone will buy it, restore it and then we`ll see it at BJ in about 4 years selling for big money.

The seller had it on Craigslist for about 2 weeks before the new owners snagged it. Ohio seller had mistaken it for an LS5 but knowingly sold it as an LS6 after reviewing the build sheet.

Nice build sheet. Car needs everything. It would have been a great project at 14K, but I see it needing six figures to get it back correctly.

There was plenty of discussion about it on the Chevelle website...it got real ugly and at least one and possibly two threads concerning the car got locked and/or many of the more offensive posts deleted.

Lets see - the guy selling on Team Chevelle shows an address of Long Island with his Team Chevelle screen name - the car is Listed to Be in Yorktown, NY - NOW on Ebay it is in Armonk, NY -- all the same pictures. Car was sold new out of Marhofer Chevy in Stow, Ohio per the buildsheet... That would be one hell of a nice car and color combo when restored..

$70k bid, no reserve and 6 days to go

no engine or trans and other "stolen" or missing parts plus a complete rust bucket, now I know why people ask about frame rust, that thing will need a new frame as well as a body ...

I don't know how much can be saved but either way it will take 150k to do it right. How much is it worth when done? The last one sold at auction only brought around 250k. These keep appearing. Makes one wonder how many were really built. Great color combo though.

The restoration on this car is NOT for the faint hearted type and will take some SERIOUS money to do it right. Likely $25-30k under the hood alone with the correct parts. Unfortunalely, it likely will end up like many of the others, slammed together just so they can bring it to B-J. Not sure there will be enough left over to put in their pocket however. Neat colors none the less and a combination that should be stunning when done.

Here's the current thread, has a link to the deleted one somewhere down the line. Towards the end a tight(almost too tight)conveniently located short block popped up thirty miles down the road from the cars location- it's linked in at the end as well.

no,someone asked to see what the car would look like and i threw in a photo from a file i have with many color combos.
my 1970 chevelle SS454 Ls6 is a Triple Black coupe with black vinyl roof/tuxedo black paint and black bucket sets with M22 trans. i will introduce myself soon but on which thread (i cant find a welcome thread) see the photo of my car attached http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u...hevelle056.jpg

car is built and delivered to atlanta dealership. i have the build sheet that came off the door panel.i will do a post today about my cars just need to find time soon.

thats great news for the hobby because that owner will be restoring that car and will need a lot of big dollar parts,so many people with LS6 parts/NOS parts and repro parts Etc... will be getting good business soon.
