Re: Heartland Nova Reunion
I have to say that the Iowa Nova guy's really know how to put on a show.......I was in charge of the weather and it was perfect on both days....we got in on Friday afternoon, got settled in and joined the group for the drive over to Duffy's for a great dinner...........went back and B.S.'d in the parking lot until??............the show filled up on Saturday am with some of the nicest Novas in the country being put on display...Now I know what those Iowa guy's do during the Winter.....LOL........except for JustBad.......(got another one on the way)................the show was just getting going when we had to leave.......it was worth every mile of driving to continue the conversion of Schoney to the Replblican Party.....LOL......Seriously.....We had a great time doing the usual and meeting new friends...(were there cars there???????)
Everyone who can should put this show on your list ............Forgot the camera....Darn!!! Ken |

Ken </div></div> That's ok Ken, that happens to guys our age. As a matter of fact, they say three things happen when you get to be our age....first, your memory starts to go and you forget things easily......and I forgot what the other two things are |

Sometimes it's better to leave the camera home and just visit!

Re: Heartland Nova Reunion
Thank you Bruce. It was a nice turn out for the show. Novas from as far as Kansas.
The tropic tourquois BB was a killer piece. Very nicely done. Our numbers were up again this year. We seem to gain 5 or 6 more each year. And... my high light was finding a new to me deuce owner. He bought the car from the original owner many years ago. Cranberry red, original motor and trans. Rear was changed out to a different 12 bolt as the 1st owner got tired of the bad gas mileage with the 4.10s Rather than change the r&p, they just swapped the whole rear. Car was sold through Thorsens, but he believes it was dealer traded from an ILL. dealer. They're still out there. |

Re: Heartland Nova Reunion
Rats!!! Great turnout.
I wanted to run up for the day Saturday but I got a call at 5:30 that morning telling me we had someone who just couldn't be bothered to show up for work ............ so 'guess who' had to be on-call!!!!!!! Oh well, still an All Nova Day for me since I spent the entire 95° day tracking down a transmission leak in my Nova. Woulda been more fun in Iowa though!!!!!!!! Thanks for the pix Mr. Mayor and Bruce! |
Re: Heartland Nova Reunion
I thought only doctors were "on call"...???

Re: Heartland Nova Reunion
I'll give you a call. He might just be new to me. He mentioned a fb deuce in Appleton too. He knows some of the Northern deuce owners. He has some 67 parts Joe needs, so when I call on having those sent down, I'll get the VIN nbr. You show a red one from Thorsen's? I'm thinking that it was delivered to a ILL dealer so we'll need to try to match the vin back to Ill.

Re: Heartland Nova Reunion
Yea, we've known about that car for awhile - sort of a ghost though, as nobody has actually seen it in person! Scott is a good guy, we know it exists, and that its real, but would love to lay eyes on it.

Re: Heartland Nova Reunion
After our visit it sounds like it might be making a trip South sometime in the future. He's been collecting pieces for a long time. Makes no bones about it being rusty. We can remedy that.
