nice car. don't think I would even give this a complete frame off. many hours of elbow grease and alot of patience this car would be a real nice original driver. the less you take apart, the less they seem to rattle.

D'oh! Listing is pulled. Who got to him? I found that last night and put a friend on the chase. Anyone here get it? I wonder what it took. I think he would have been well served to let that auction go to the end.

Bill-I think this shows red stripes might have been an early offering. Years ago, a friend had a burgandy '69 Z with red interior, and it was loaded. But it had suffered a crappy repaint. I'm wondering now if that might have had the red stripes....

That is very cool indeed. Don't see burgundy too often. Someone got a nice score there. I see a Firestone Sportscar 200 spare. Anyone know the breakdown between Firestone and Goodyears? Was it assembly plant or date related. I see this Z is a 03D Norwood car. My 12A Norwood Z still has it's orig Goodyear spare, but not sure what my 11A LOS Z car should have?

I wonder what it cost to stop the auction looked like a great car and the seller seemed clueless.

I'm innocent. I just now saw this thread and the car. Neat car.

I had close-up pics, and the car was rusty. He would have ended the auction for me at 28K.

Related to the tires - my real late 69 - 10D car had the Firestone Sportscar Tires installed at the factory - i believe it was random availability

I asked if he would sell just the spare tire, the answer was NO..

Re: 1969 Z 2/8

It's my car now. I bought it from the guy who bought it from the guy who had it on ebay. It's still in Ohio where it has been all it's life. Gonna give it a good detailing have dent wizard take out the 2 dents. Replace the carb with an original dated one, maybe a few other small details and leave it the way it is. They are only original once!

Re: 1969 Z 2/8

You plan to keep it original makes you the perfect owner for that car...and of course drive it. Congratulations, neat car.

Danny this would be a good car to rig up a shower under it and use the safest rust remover product then bio shield when done.

I was told the original owners son has the POP. I do not have contact info but he does live in NC. I got a copy of the title showing car transfering from original owner to his son.

Definitely going to have to change gears. At 70MPH it is taching 4000 RPM. Not good for a driver. Not only that I think the speedo is off so I probably wasn't going that fast. I'd say at least 4.56....maybe even 4.88's.

Fun up going through the gears up to 70 mph though I bet!
Keep us posted.

Very cool, great purchase. Can you please post your progress here? That is certainly a car worth documenting through pictures. A true reference manual for us willing to learn!
