FS: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z/28 Lemans Blue

2 Attachment(s)
RAC Performance is pleased to present this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z/28!

When thinking about a vintage muscle car, generally one of the first cars brought up is the first generation Chevrolet Camaro, which was produced from 1967-1969, with the '69 model having been the most popularity. This 1969 'RS' Z/28 Camaro exemplifies the term "MUSCLE."

This RS Z/28 was built the 4th week of February and purchased new in March of 1969 from Lew Williams Chevrolet in Corpus Christi, Texas. This vehicle has been a TEXAS car all of its life up to this point; starting in Corpus Christi and slowly making its way up to the North Texas Area.

This vehicle has not been 100% Restored. It has been refreshed, with some updates. There are many original parts still on the car, but it is not 100% original.

-Fresh engine rebuild (pre-caution for car sitting idle for many years)

-ball joint's

-gas tank straps

-ZL2 Hood

-leaf springs

This vehicle is equipped with the following factory options:

-DZ 302ci small block (rated at 290HP)

-4 Speed Muncie Manual Transmission

-Chambered Exhaust System

-Chevy Black Jack Header's

-Rally Sport Option

-Lemans Blue Paint 72 72

-Black Interior 712

-Astro Ventilation

-AM & FM Radio

-X33 Exterior Trim

-4.10 Positive Rear End

**RAC Performance DOES hold all documentation regarding this vehicle, such as: prior ownership history (mileage confirmation), service history, the protecto plate, warranty booklet, and more!!**

With just under 10,000 documented original miles, this RS Z/28 has a story that rival's that of a Pulitzer Prize winning book!

"Unrestored" ? Engine rebuilt on an engine with less than 10k miles?
Factory rear disc brakes?
X33 - Is it a D80 car since it has spoilers?
Was this car equipped with a cowl hood originally?
YH wheels?

Dollars to donuts this "survivor" is a repaint and not a factory jl8 for that price. Hope I'm wrong.......

This is a new member here. Can we wait and see what he has ? Maybe he is not knowledgeable on Camaro's. Maybe he has posted what was told to him. If it is to be picked apart after he posts good pics can we please do it in a helpful way ?

Yeah Stefano, perhaps a bit harsh. Bad on me for jumping the gun. No introduction and first posts are to sell got me off on the wrong foot. So, sheitman, welcome aboard and what do you say you tell us a bit about you?

I was a tad harsh as well. My questions do stand as I do believe they are partaining to the subject matter.

Anyone posting here should welcome the comments. If the car is legit it will stand up to the scrutiny. I posted pictures of mine and welcomed every comment. In the end it helped me and I own a better car.
Welcome aboard.

Welcome aboard.

Just a note to admins:

I still believe that new as well as old members should have a completed profile before they can post anything, much less a significant car for sale.

This Camaro strikes a nerve with many of us as it might be a very desirable car.

You have come the the right place in order to get it sold. More pics and info will be helpful.

Re: FS: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z/28 Lemans Blue

If you want more information send me an email or call me. I have all the doc's on this car that are pertinent, except the window sticker.

The ad does NOT tell everything about the car. I am selling this car for a good client of mine.

***The Hood is not original. The ZL hood was not an option on an early '69. They did not offer that hood until late '69. The hood was added sometime in 1970***

This car is priced VERY reasonably and realistic, with the research I have done. It has not had a full repaint! The hood is the only added paint on the car, because it was added after that fact. The vehicle is not a quote on quote survivor, but it is very close.

**Yes the pinstripes are horrible and were added by the 7th owner in the 90s. I have documentation showing when it was done**

**The vehicle is equipped with the original alternator and intake. The intake has been polished. It was done by the 3rd owner for some reason or another.

**The engine was rebuilt because it sat for many years (hence the mileage) and did not run properly upon purchase in early 2000.**

**Our Photographer will be out on Friday to shoot the car, pictures up by the weekend. Check the link in the ad periodically as pictures will follow soon**

So, out of respect for the car, my client, and our company, if you are interested please email or call. Don't just jump to conclusions on the car. I will NOT be monitoring this site everyday.

He hasn't taken your hint Stefano - profile not complete.

Sheitman - if you are used to the "Porsche crowd" toughness then you should be used to us. So let's call that a wash. We like lots of pix round here cause we can learn stuff and hone our skills in the hobby. Plus - who gets tired of looking at beautiful muscle cars!! Not monitoring for days will probably not help your cause. Come on...............play with us!!!!!!!

Nice car. I believe the JL8 axle was dealer installed in this car.
The cowl hood was available by February, but probably none were on the lots when the car was ordered.

doesn't surprise me a bit this motor needed rebuilt.
a valve probably stuck from sitting and punched a piston in the mouth when it was fired up

Not sure why the pinstripes were unavailable on Z/28's. I think they look great.

Re: FS: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z/28 Lemans Blue

I'll try to be polite. I'm not seeing at all how this can be called a unrestored car, much less a 10,000 mile car. Spencer I am just going to assume you don't know enough about Camaro's. The car has had the rear leaf springs replaced, the lower spring plates are wrong, the gas tank straps are supposed to be black but have been redone the wrong color, the upper ball joints have been replaced. These are the kind of things done in a amateur restoration, not how you typically see a unrestored low mile car.

Re: FS: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z/28 Lemans Blue

Looks to be a nice driver type old Camaro. Thanks for posting more pictures.
I recommend to the seller that when selling an old musclecar that you keep everything as close to the actual facts as possible. Or maybe these were the facts given by the actual owner of the car…… But anyway, whoever ends up buying a car like this typically does their homework. As you can see there are a lot of knowledgeable folks on this forum that can pick a part an old musclecar in seconds. It’s not uncommon that before someone spends serious cash on an old car that the info on the vehicle in question ends up on a site just like this from a potential buyer. Then the forum hammers out all of the positives and negatives of the car in order to help out the potential buyer. Or they may hire a professional to come out and thoroughly go over the car.
Maybe this will help you with presenting the car where most of the questions are answered in the listing. This should also help you sell it a whole lot faster.
Good luck with your sell!!

Nice looking car ...I wonder if the pin stripes over the wheelwells are tape? Has anyone seen the trim tag ? Or any of the engine stamps? Seems like a lot of dough... its on e-bay with all the other 60,000 plus cars... The economy in Texas must be boomin...
