Re: CRR LS6 engine on craigs
Even if you owned the car it originally came out of that would be a lot.

Hey Rick, the cell # in that ad matches up w/ scammer Mick Dush who you exposed in 2011 for a customer ready to pull the trigger on a bogus LS6.
Black w/ white coupe, Vin on file as a 396 car previously inspected. Bogus LS6 VIN 136370B144938 http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2012/...ies/?refer=news ~ Pete |
Re: CRR LS6 engine on craigs
L 17 9 (December 17, 1969) block with a machine date of T0403CRR (April 3rd, 1970) is questionable @ best. I guess it depends what plant it was installed in? Most Arlington cars I have seen are within 60 days.
"A hone job will clean up any slight ridge on top" I've seen 75,000 mile big blocks that had no ridge. Sounds like this engine is a little tired. Bill |

Re: CRR LS6 engine on craigs
$10K
Are you kidding me |
Re: CRR LS6 engine on craigs
So you guys are telling me that this engine (if it's indeed real) isn't worth $10,000 to the guy with the 1970 Chevelle SS this was born out of that would otherwise not be able to prove its a real LS6?
CRAZY. I would pay 10k in a heartbeat. |

</div></div> Figures it would be the same clown. Sad thing is the sheriff and district attorney had more than enough to put him away. I'm sure he plea bargained his way out of it. Needs to be handled like they did in the old west and eliminate his kind! |
Re: CRR LS6 engine on craigs
"(if it's indeed real)" That's what I am trying to say... that far of a time frame between cast date & machine date are way to long compaired to known real LS-6 cars. Just my opinion (for what ever that's worth).

Re: CRR LS6 engine on craigs
I don't see a VIN listed anywhere. Looks like the pads (where they would/could be) were cleaned but no VIN advertised.

Re: CRR LS6 engine on craigs
I sold this engine to him around 2 years ago for quite a bit less than his asking price. What he says about the motor is 100% correct. I pulled the motor from a 70 ss396 el camino that had not been touched since the late 70's. It was a standard bore with no vin number. The pad is untouched original. At the time of sale I had no idea what he is/was accused of.

Re: CRR LS6 engine on craigs
Located about an hour away from me if anyone is interested. Just an FYI,I paid about the same to get my numbers matching motor back. I still think it was alot, but no one would touch my car with a ten foot pole before. Now I get pm's about once a week to buy it. So the 10K would be worth it to the owner of the car in my opinion.

Re: CRR LS6 engine on craigs
If it was complete and didn't need a rebuild it would be an ok deal.Proper date coded L78s completely rebuilt go for around $6000 up here in Moose country.
