Wow, finding something like that would be like hitting the lotto. Couple years back I stumbled across a one owner 28,000 original miles 1974 AMX javelin . The wife of the gentlemen that bought the car new, gave it to me as I was wenching it onto my rollback she says to her daughter and son in law, "I can't believe someone really wants that piece of sh@t. Of course finding a Shelby is far more fascinating and valuable lol

The car had a little over 32,000 original miles on it when I found it not 28,000. Had been sitting since 1975 due to a small engine fire after the women took it to the grocery store and it back fired threw the carb. Car was sold to a big AMX guy and was restored back to 100 percent factory original.

About a week ago a guy here in Sweden put this pic up on Facebook. They pulled out his fathers Shelby with the intent to start working on it. Not as nice as the one in the article but still the real deal GT 500.

Anyone see that Fast-n-Loud where they found that '69 Boss 429?

I guess it was a survivor, and pulled $160k at B-J.

Was that a fair price for that car? Couldn't really tell the condition from the show.

Re: 1969 Shelby GT500 w/8500 mi.

I just heard about this Shelby on the news this morning...amazing how stories are circulated...its a nice find indeed...not sure what it will do at a local auction house...or what advertising they have done...I subscribe to Hemmings Motor News, Muscle Car Review, Hemmings Muscle Machines and had to hear about it on Fox news...

I dig that Ranchero...4 spd, black w/lazer stripe and shaker...if it was a 70 and had hideaways I would be heading there with my trailer on the 25th...

Re: 1969 Shelby GT500 w/8500 mi.

This Friday is the sale. Plenty of my Ford friends are going. I am interested in the outcome but will be racing if the weather is good. Gas Monkey sent someone to look at the car. But there are 5 people in the Lock Haven area that have the means to buy it if they want it. Also Penn State is 10 minutes away. When I worked over there I had lots of muscle cars owned by professors I worked on. I was told by one of my Ford friends that looked at it that it had had been repaired on the driver side rear quarter. Whatever the outcome it will make for an interesting next chapter for the car.

Did Grant buy it? I know for sure he has the funds!

Re: 1969 Shelby GT500 w/8500 mi.

Yes. He is from Phillipsburg, not Clearfeild. Funny after all the hype it ended up going 20 minutes north. I was told that the day of the sale peoples zippers and pants buttons could be heard hitting the car. I was also told it ran but was missing. I am sure it was not a big deal. Also the first bid was 200k but they stopped and restarted bidding and it restarted at 25k
