They just added the updated info with the inspection reports on all of the Chevrolets (Yenkos and the Mailbu ragtop) this week.

Anyone from here going/bidding?

Is that Kevin Hands old RG Yenko Nova?
The Black Hat on the RG Nova really looks awesome to me... something about the V roof with the Ralley Green white stripe on the Nova.

I love that color combo too and blame it on one of my old Hotwheels.

Regarding the Additional Docs, for the RG Yenko Camaro on Page 3 of the added JM report he states:
"All of the Yenko Camaros ordered by Yenko Chevrolet were X44 coded base cars."
In this report JM goes on to imply that, since this car's tag is coded 'X11', the fact that it is not coded X44 makes this tag suspect. I don't know this car or anything about the authenticity of the tag, but this statement about X44 being the only code for '69 Yenko Camaros is incorrect and, on its own, does not make this tag suspicious. Please correct me if I'm mistaken. But if I'm right it is a shame this paragraph is in this report.

Re: 1969 Yenkos up for auction...seized by US Marshals

There are some pictures of the holding lot at Yenko showing some X11 cars waiting for their stripes. I have also seen a number of X11 cars in person and have no reason to believe their tags were reproductions. I agree that the part about the X11 tag not being legit should not be in the report. The decked and restamped block and questionable firewall are bigger issues though.

The Yenko Chevelle doesn't appear to have any issues although I was under the impression it still had it's original transmission which it apparently doesn't.

The report on the Nova seems to imply that the CE block in the car is the one that was installed by Yenko in 69. Does anybody know if that is true? I didn't think that car had the original Yenko installed block in it.

Charley, the Yenko Chevelle and Nova would look good in the Brothers Collection.

It is unfortunate that the "expert" has provided erroneous information on more than one of these Yenkos.

I'm sorry to see a statement so incorrect about Yenko trim tags made by someone people rely on. There are plenty of X11 trim tags on Yenko Camaros. The uneducated statement presented as fact probably hurt the sales price of that car. There right thing to do would be a retraction and correction.
As for the Nova there is no proof it was ever a 427 car that I know of. Yes there are supposed to be old pics of it with Yenko decals but how do we know Yenko didn't just add stripes to make it more sale able and never put the 427 in ? There was already one certified 427 Yenko Nova that was proven on this site by orig. owner family that it left Yenko as a 396.

There are more than just a couple authentic X11 code Yenko Camaros in existence. Several belong to members here on the site.

So according to Jerry M., the L-89 car seems very suspect...?? Is that correct about the holes in the rockers??

Re: 1969 Yenkos up for auction...seized by US Marshals

I'm no expert like some of the guys on here, but I have seen several unrestored documented 70 Chevelle SS's with the trim piece along the bottom of the rocker. I don't know if they came from the factory like that or were installed later on. Here is an unrestored LS6 with the rocker trim. I think Stefano had it at one time.

Re: 1969 Yenkos up for auction...seized by US Mars

Why would a high performance dealer and Yenko dealer such as V.V. Cooke need to ship in a 396 Nova from Yenko? The 396 Nova sold at Yenko was converted and documented as a 427 car years later when it benefitted the owners at that time. Yes, uneducated statements presented as facts do affect the values of these cars.

Have any of you guys that know JM asked him about the tags? I've spoken to him on the phone a few years back, but don't feel that I know him well enough to question him. Couldn't hurt to ask?

There are documented 396/375 1968 COPO unconverted Yenko Camaros sold at dealers other than Yenko. The X11 tag statement is ridiculous. I guess the X66 Yenkos are all now suspect as well. And there are DOCUMENTED Yenkos that never had the bowties removed. And how in the world could anyone state that a CE block in a Yenko Nova is the one that it came with?..BKH

When I owned this Chevelle the transmission and interior were original to the car.

a number of mistakes in the Yenko Chevelle CHP certification.
states that Yenko records show 95 were built but the production number used since the 1980s is 99 and I never heard any other number used.
I guess it could be a typo but it is in two different places in the certification

a few mistakes under the CHP cert option list one obvious one is the COPO 9737 is not listed although it is shown on the original Yenko order form included in the report. Order form shows it as the Yenko Sports Car conversion option.
The COPO 9737 was one of the unique highlights of the Yenko Chevelles so would think it is an important option to note.
also shows tires as F70x14 but the Yenko Chevelle used a special F70x15

This is Howard Cox's old Chevelle and Stefano brokered it.

As far as the rocker moldings, this is a long standing argument. I have photos of 454 cars from back in the early 80's with rocker moldings and the owners swore they came that way. However, I have NEVER seen one ounce of documentation showing that they were done that way from the factory. That being said, the factory made mistakes ALL the time so it was certainly possible. I have seen that first hand numerous times. Never say never.

As far as the Blue Yenko Chevelle that Chad used to own, I won't post them here but I have photos of the drivetrain on that car when he and I tore it down that shows it still retained it's born with engine, trans and rear.

Re: 1969 Yenkos up for auction...seized by US Marshals

The rallye green Yenko should not be an X11, it is originally an X44 car if it is the one John O. owned. That body was dipped during restoration and the original tag was lost. It was an original Jack Douglas sold Yenko.

I meant Ohler's old yenko, N616658, that is the car I'm referring to. It was for sale on the north side of Chicago in '86 or so, sitting on a side street near Montrose harbor for $ 6,000, painted black, Yenko 350 for sale, can't be real ??. Oops, missed that one.
