Photos from MCACN 2014
I spend most of the day yesterday at the show and would like to thank Bob and his crew for the great show they put on each year. The cars were amazing and the place was packed all day. I had a great time and took a few pictures as well. I was trying out a new camera so hopefully they turn out ok on here. My only critique is that some of the cars were parked practically door handle to door handle making them kind of hard to view much less shoot pictures of them. The majority of the crowd was checking out the muscle car displays and the large area housing the modified cars was virtually empty. Having a few less modified cars would allow the muscle cars to be more spread out along with the crowds enjoying them. Here are a few of the better photos I took.
L89 Showcase: Chris Short's 69 El Camino https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...5-dscn0041.jpg Samantha Styles' 69 Chevelle SS conv. looking good with it's new stance. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...6-dscn0045.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...7-img_9681.jpg J. Jones' 68 Camaro RS/SS with an M22 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...8-dscn0048.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9-img_9684.jpg R. Adkins' 69 Chevelle SS post sedan. This car was featured in numerous magazines back in the early 90's. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...0-dscn0050.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...1-img_9682.jpg This 69 Camaro RS/SS and the 69 Chevelle SS conv. were numbers matching cars out of a private collection. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...2-dscn0103.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...3-img_9678.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...4-dscn0102.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...5-img_9698.jpg The only known L89 70 Chevelle SS https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...6-dscn0106.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...7-img_9680.jpg Mark Hasset's 69 Chevelle SS. How about some Hemis!
This is Kevin Suydam's former 71 Cuda conv. that is a numbers matching 4 speed car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...0-dscn0037.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...1-img_9675.jpg Sinister looking Black 70 Cuda with dog dishes. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...2-dscn0039.jpg Mike Mancini's freshly restored Vitamin C 70 Cuda. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...3-dscn0093.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...4-img_9697.jpg Bruce Bartie's unrestored 70 Cuda. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...5-dscn0141.jpg David Laur's unrestored 70 Superbird. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...6-dscn0133.jpg Rick Mahoney's 65 Belvedere A990 which is 1 of 1 Medium Blue Metallic 65 A990 Plymouths. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...7-dscn0135.jpg R. Dezsi's 69 Super Bee which was a numbers matching 4 speed car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...8-dscn0137.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9-img_9707.jpg T. I know there were a few non lightweight Hemi cars built in 1964 so this must be one of them. I didn't get a chance to talk to the owner or look at the fender tag. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...2-dscn0169.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...3-img_9711.jpg |

Class of 1969:
W. Horodryk's 69 Road Runner A12 that I believe is Seafoam Turquoise Metallic. Vintage Certification contenders:
Phil Woj's 69 Chevelle COPO was sold new at Lyle Chevrolet and is documented with it's original POP. It is a 38K mile car with it's original engine and rear end. It is a bench seat car with a TH400. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...4-dscn0151.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...5-img_9689.jpg D. It has 81K miles and I believe the original drivetrain. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...8-dscn0167.jpg J. Benthin's 66 Chevelle SS L78. I think this car was featured in Muscle Car Review in the mid 80's. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9-dscn0168.jpg |

Re: Photos from MCACN 2014
Thanks for posting the beautiful pictures. MCACN looks amazing, and on my list of events I have to make sometime soon.
So many nice cars, but for some reason that '69 RS/SS Hugger Orange Camaro on page 1 just looks like a standout. Thanks again. |
GTO's:
J. Bourcier's 69 Judge RAIV. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...1-dscn0075.jpg Anyone know anything else about this RAIV Judge? It looks just like one I had the opportunity to purchase at Carlisle in the '80's. The one I almost bought had been a POCI champion and, at the time, I think they wanted $10,000. for it. Love the sound of those RAIV cars at idle. Thanks for posting all of these great pictures; looks like a great show that keeps getting better each year. |

Here's a couple more. Setup day was interesting to say the least! We had to move cars several times to make room for some "fashionably late" arrivals. |

The 1967 SS (paint by Custom Cars in La Grange, IL) was stunning. The owner showed me some pics from the original owner where he took delivery of the car before dealer prep. Still had the plastic covering on the top, minus centercaps and trim rings. Just an incredible restoration.

This was an amazing 1964 Mercury Park Lane, and the owners were very friendly talking about its unique history. This was the actual car that Mercury built to be used on the Ford Magic Skyway ride at the 1964 World's Fair. This ride consisted of real Ford and Mercury cars (including Mustangs) riding on a rail, traveling through time, back to the age of dinosaurs (Disney developed the ride, and later used elements of this creative attraction for their Universe Of Energy ride in Epcot Center).
This was the actual Mercury that was used in the ride, so thousands and thousands of butts were in those seats! It's an absolutely stunning restoration, and one of those cars that you can't just open up a catalog to order repro parts for. These pics were from the setup day, so they didn't have the pics and photos displayed yet. |
Re: Photos from MCACN 2014
No 67 Chevelle pics? I'm looking for my old car.
