1969 Nova SS350

Not a bad project car! Very local to me, but I don't think I've ever seen it around.

Looks to be a nice project car indeed! Not terribly far from me either. I almost never see Rallye Green Camaros let alone Novas. Maybe Tom W. can chime in on this...the ad says factory 4.11 gears. Seems like it's something you could order at an additional cost??? Didn't the low horsepower cars such as the 350/300 Novas, Camaros, etc. normally come with 3.31's or 3.55's?

Re: 1969 Nova SS350

Cowl tag calls out 731 interior...so, someone added the buckets.

If the driveline components are original..it is certainly a fair price.

That's not a bad price either. Rally green is a big PLUS....

That's something you probably wouldn't have heard a few years ago, lol.

Re: 1969 Nova SS350

Yes, 3.31's or 3.55's would be the norm for an SS Nova, but I think 4.10's could be special ordered. I saw the 731 code as well, but honestly - the buckets in there are worth a ton, and could easily cover the cost of a newly recovered bench seat.

I sent the seller a note asking for paperwork avail, detail pics of rear code and dual exhaust plate. I think that's a really fair deal for someone looking to get into a project - and Rally Green is a big plus!

Pretty tempting, I'd probably be on it if it were local.

I think there was a guy who looked at this and made a rant on CL that seems to have been taken down.

More rust than originally described, car was repainted, wrong motor...Can't recall all the details

This car was at Spring Carlisle last year. Sat there all week at $4500. Finally sold on Saturday.

Someone I know looked at this car in person and among other things, replied to me it was one of the most clapped out cars hes ever seen.

Re: 1969 Nova SS350

I agree with the reports you've heard, most cars are worse than described. If this car doesn't have the original engine, that certainly devalues it - but sheet metal issues should be expected. This appears to be a decent project car, nothing to concourse restore - but toss the front clip and replace with repro metal, skin the doors, and patch the quarters and it's pretty far along. At $4,500 it was actually a good deal - but maybe just to Nova folks!

Well, here's another interesting one - didn't know that "All Chevys SS models in '69 came in Daytona Yelow and Monaco Orange"!

He's probably trying to say, that all DY and MO Novas are SSs. I know that is true for Chevelles, not sure about Novas.

Sam...there were no SS specific paint colors for the Nova. The Super Sport option was just that...an option. You could order any color paint, any interior combo...they had no impact on the SS option. The SS option did get the L48 350/300hp engine with the 2 big block 396's as additional choices.

Re: 1969 Nova SS350

Would be interesting to see the trim tag. In 69 Monaco, or hugger orange wasn't offered on a Nova. It would have been a -- on the trim tag. I'm thinking the same applies to the DY.

Re: 1969 Nova SS350

Don't see too many Frost Green / black hat '69 Novas, especially with custom bucket interior, AC and triple moldings! Don't know if it is truly an SS or not, and the price is pretty steep for the condition - but if you really like Frost Green (like me...) it could be a nice (upside down ) car when finished!
