Re: still out there 124379N616431
Current owner bought this car with no vin but had law enforcement inspect for the hidden vins and here you have it. He plans on selling it. He asked me for pricing advise and I said price it at 100K and listen to offers.

Re: still out there 124379N616431
Neat car.

Re: still out there 124379N616431
Very, very cool. Any known history on the car?
|
Re: still out there 124379N616431
Amazing the trim tag made it, rare blue auto.
|
Re: still out there 124379N616431
Is that Lemans Blue w/blk V-top and Std. Blk bucket seats originally?
|
Re: still out there 124379N616431
Yes it is.
|
Re: still out there 124379N616431
You've got to wonder how a car gets from an original Yenko to this. Would love to know the history.

Re: still out there 124379N616431
Caught that when Vin posted in the other thread, congrats Craig and welcome aboard! Looking forward to hearing any details and history also what of 9737? ~ Pete |
Re: still out there 124379N616431
I brought my sheets today to figure out another VIN story, and I have the Yenko Inventory Sheet with this car on it. Some additional details:
- Chevy Order Number = DA879 - Yenko Stock Number = YS-9548 - Delivered to Yenko on / around 3/31/1969 - Sold by James Spencer - Equipped: -- Turbo -- AM Radio -- P/S -- V/T -- Instrument Group Cool car, I had heard that there are but 5 Lb with the Turbo! It is, considering the VIN tag did not. Usually the other way around. |
Re: still out there 124379N616431
Will look amazing when done ...

Re: still out there 124379N616431
neat find.....so where is the car going to be advertised?
|
Re: still out there 124379N616431
I have moved this thread to the for sale section. The seller is member "heatfan". I believe he is asking 100K. I'll offer 50K. It will be interesting to see where we end up.
|
Re: still out there 124379N616431
It would be great if heatfan could post some more info about the car. Any sheet metal replaced? Any of the hard to find parts still there (dist, carb, block, rear, 140 speedo ,etc)? Tubbed & quarters expanded @ rear wheels? Known history? I'm in at 52k.
Also, for some reason I couldn't get the 2nd page of the post to open sale section. |
Re: still out there 124379N616431
I will post more pictures of the car this weekend and more information for everyone. Sorry I have no history of the camaro, I wanted a pro street camaro and when I went to register it I found out what it really was. But other than the body, the drive train is not there.
Thanks Craig |
Re: still out there 124379N616431
any way to know if it had white or black yenko striping?
black striping with the vinyl top sounds hot |
Re: still out there 124379N616431
Not sure of the relevance but that it was a neat pic and it shows a vt car with black SYC stripes.

Re: still out there 124379N616431
Thanks Craig - photo of the cowl vin stamp would also be great. Maybe just the name & state of the person that you bought it from would be a start. PM me with what you have please.
|
Re: still out there 124379N616431
I spoke with the guy I bought it from and was surprised as I was. He has no idea. I will be posting all the pictures this weekend.
Thanks Craig |
Re: still out there 124379N616431
Has Craig the owner priced the car at 100k ? Is this an auction ? Just trying to figure out a firm asking price ...site rules says it has to be priced GLWS

Re: still out there 124379N616431
Ditto.. Didn't think this was eBay.. Just curious

Re: still out there 124379N616431
The reason for my question is ...it's in the
For sale section because it's been moved there ...I don't see anywhere where the owner himself has a asking price. Charley helped the owner with a suggested price...I am asking for a firm price because there are people interested. The car is real no doubt and kuddos to the owner But in the end we have a reissued vin...with no drivetrain ... and car may need a donor due to the pro street tubbing. My consideration is only based on photo info provided. There is a considerable amount of work needed on a car worth saving GLWS |
Re: still out there 124379N616431
Iam asking 100k or best offer. I will post pictures this weekend and hopefully sell it soon.
I hope to sell it asap! |

Re: still out there 124379N616431
No Don...I would put it in day 2 condition ...take it to the Reunion and other dragstrips and treat it like they did when they were sold new. That car in its condition would have more fun at the track than being restored and sitting in someone's garage. Even if this car was restored it is not a tier 1 car due to what I mentioned above. It won't command the $$ that tier 1 Yenkos do. I would enjoy asking myself ....do I take the Copo or Yenko to the dragstrip today.

Re: still out there 124379N616431
Hopefully pics will post today. I'd like to make sure that most of the original 616431 is still present & why the replacement VIN? I seem to remember a long, drawn out discussion that involved a car with an upper cowl VIN stamp that didn't match the VIN tag (actually the opposite of this car which has no VIN tag & the TT is off the car). It's important to know how much of the car (beyond the heater box area & TT)is actually 616431. I'm sure that by now someone knowledgeable has examined the car.
|
Re: still out there 124379N616431
That car would look so cool if painted Lemans Blue and striped ...then some serious track time like Tom Clary does with his Deuce
|
Re: still out there 124379N616431
I agree - but then again - any LB '69 Camaro with Yenko stripes would look the same. As far as we know, this car only has a few days of title history as #616431. Certainly Craig hasn't altered anything, but he just bought it. The most $$ for Craig to get for it would be to have an expert certify it as having original stamps in place & write a report on the current condition of the body. Colonial Chev is in VA - odd to see it show up in CA without a history. Maybe Craig bought it from someone back east??? Gotta hear more from him.
|
Re: still out there 124379N616431
True Bergy. Title search would help. Especially since it's been bought so recent. Even in Virginia and nearby states
|
Re: still out there 124379N616431
I would be worried that the vin is out there somewhere and will show up on another body and then there'll be civil litigation as to who owns what. Someone might have thought that the tubbed car was too tough to fix and went the easy rebody route.
