Interesting survivor 67 camaro near me
My old family computer that barely works (they all die) is getting shut down over the weekend, and I had most of my car pictures backed up except these camaro shots. I luckily saved them just now before scraping the thing.
Its a 67 camaro with about 14k miles on it. One of the shots shows drag racing trophy's the original owner has from when he raced it (claimed he ran high 13s). He said pontiac 6 cylinders were also fast. I tried to buy it, but thought 20K was always too high. I think its still sitting in its garage, have not checked on it in a while. It's a 230 HP 3 spd car. Only option is the 9 lb AM radio, pushing its dry weight to 2779 lbs. That is one insanely light car! I think that is why it is so fast. Engine bay is still a nice survivor. Figured some here would enjoy the pics! http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/o...ps6ff2nfo2.jpg http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/o...psw1gjok0e.jpg http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/o...pssp7fvmnj.jpg http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/o...psz8vfeukm.jpg |

Neat car. I like that it is a manual floor shift with no console.

I think he is off a little in his Elapsed Time memory.

1967?????????

Re: Interesting survivor 67 camaro near me
That car is amazing but 13 sec 6cyl?.?. It's a 68 also not 67. $20k if the body and interior are as nice as they seem from the photos then I'd say that's fair..

Re: Interesting survivor 67 camaro near me
I figured everybody knew the year was wrong in the original post because of a "fat finger". I actually like '68s myself, and gave the OP a free pass on the wrong year. Are rust-free 6cyl. stick cars now worth $20,000? 1968s?

Re: Interesting survivor 67 camaro near me
I wouldn't hesitate to ask $20k for ANY 14k original mile mint 1st Gen Camaro, '68's included. All the $10k cars need $10k in metalwork anyway so I think any Pro Tourer, Hot Rodder, or purist would now write that check.

That is exactly what a friend wants me to do, is pass this car on to him and they would make it a custom frame hot rod. I can't believe I missed the wing windows (67). I know better. I was just glad I saved the pictures while my computer was in the middle of dying. For grins, here is a '67' getting some 8 second numbers for the 1/8 mile. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZpy9a6B-Fo Now could one expect the 1/4 mile numbers to be in the 13s? Not sure. I know he had a tach when he raced it, he said he drove it within an inch of blowing the engine using the tach to get those times he claimed. I can't remember what he changed on the motor when he raced it. He also has a pre 67 GTO he also drag raced, and has a collection of rare intake manifolds w/ carb setups. When he was in vietnam, his mom bought this car, and when he got a chance to come home, he took the car to the track to race in the 6 cylinder class. |
Re: Interesting survivor 67 camaro near me
It would be tragic to ruin this car.

Re: Interesting survivor 67 camaro near me
Beautiful Grotto Blue with Blue interior...
It would be tragic, however it would make a great DAY 2 candidate. |

Re: Interesting survivor 67 camaro near me
Put a turbo on it, with about 20 lbs. of boost, it might go 13's if it hooked.
