I know that car when it was found here in Indiana the interior was 100 % covered in mold. I looked at it after it was cleaned up and you could still smell that mold mildew smell. But it is a cool car and was in nice shape maybe the smell is gone now ?

SOLD $13,999.00
<span style="font-style: italic">1969 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SUPER SPORT SS ALL ORIGINAL 55,000 MILES AUTOMATIC 396 8CYL CLASSIC BEAUTY The Chevelle has been garaged for 25 years. The engine turns over but does not start. A new distributor, points and plugs/wires have been added but it needs more troubleshooting to figure out why it won't start. There is a spark at the points, it isn't getting fuel though...the engine is turning too slow to start; therefore, we are selling &quot;AS IS&quot;. It has 55K original miles and to the best of our knowledge the car is completely ORIGINAL, the following has been verified: ENGINE#10702JK engraved on block# 198406725 is original to the car, it has the original tag with these numbers located under hood/driver side against windshield: ST6913637 BAL280252BDY 50CPNT (WHITE) BL210195 TR756. Original August 1969 Bill of Sale available, owner's manual, and associated registrations paperwork to include original spec/metal tag. All original ~ interior leather seats are still subtle without damage. The headliner is still intact, not torn. The dash is also in gorgeous condition ~ all the way down to the carpeting, which is in excellent like new condition. It has the original white SS rubber floor mats. There is barely any rust on the car body~ and that is towards the bottom front fenders and the bottom edge of the doors that has been oversprayed with matching white to protect. There is however some common rusting underneath the car, the tail pipe is rusted through. The engine, under the hood, shows evidence of rust. The trunk is clean with light rusting, not rusted through by any means. The chrome is all good with no or minimal pitting, it has the original insert vinyl stripping. The body metal is solid all the way around and the paint still looks good. There is a tiny &quot;ripple&quot; on the passenger side door, maybe 6&quot; long if you're looking at it from the front you can detect it. The chrome bumpers are beautiful, no dings or pitting. The glass is perfect. The dark blue vinyl roof is in excellent condition **it has lifted a little along the bottom edge of the rear window. There is a $25 non-refundable deposit, if you are the high bidder on the car and then choose not to purchase it after seeing it, you have that option, but we will keep the $25 listing fee. You are welcome to have an independent inspection done, if it is determined that the car has not been represented adequately and you don't want to buy it, you will be refunded the $25. We can't say enough about this car, except that relunctantly it must be sold. However, we feel strongly that the Chevelle is &quot;special&quot; due to the fact that it was loved, is completely original and is now so READY TO BE TURNED LOOSE!! If interested, message us through Ebay with a specific question and, if you'd like, your phone number. We are going to get some more pictures for you and provide more information on the paperwork that will be handed over with the car. We realize it is a difficult purchase, especially if out of state, but we are honest folks and Indiana is beautiful this time of year ~ Just keep on messaging and we'll do the best we can to get some good answers. The car is for &quot;pick-up only&quot; and is located southside Indianapolis. (Go Colts!)</span>

Hi Steve,

It is a Baltimore car and they used codes on the build sheet for zone and delivering dealer.

I'm thinking this is a low 20's car... maybe. It appears very complete overall.

It can take a couple of years for that smell to diminish. I recently used a tablet in a cup of water that really helped remove interior odor. It was something that I picked up at a local detail shop.

man..i dont know much about build sheets, but ive had 100s...and that looks like an aged, way too white...way to crisp build sheet to me...even in the pic it doesnt have the right texture if that makes sense..it looks like someone made a copy, wrinkled it up..threw it in some coffe or tea and wrinkled it up some more...just doesnt look right..maybe..its just me

Mark,

I compared this build sheet to several Baltimore sheets that I have on file and I'd have to say it is legit. The codes are correct, fonts are correct, offsets and spacing are a match too. That being said, very few Baltimore cars had build sheets in them. I have two Baltimore survivors with zero build sheets. Just an opinion though, there are many here that are more versed.

I totally agree. The font looks suspect too

I agree with the sheet. It looks like it was crumpled up on purpose.I don't think I have ever seen a legit build sheet all crumpled up, then flattened back out.

Why go through the trouble of faking a sheet for a 325 horse auto. car that you already have the P.O.P. for? Or are you thinking all the docs are faked?

Des,

I would have to agree. If you have a legit POP and numbers matching drive train, why bother with this extra expense... and bs, if that is so. The zone number and dealer number match the paper work too. Well done if it is all fake.

One of the gents that used to work on the assembly line in Baltimore, back in '69, stated at one of our car shows, that build sheets were not to be left in the cars during the assembly process. He said that the plant was very strict in that respect. He did say however, that if a car had a defect that had to be repaired after going through the line, a notation would be left on a build sheet until the repair was done and sometimes that sheet would end up getting stuffed under the dash and staying with the car. He estimates that each car with all the different components would start the assembly process with about 50 build sheets.

I believe Al Galdi's 69 COPO had three build sheets and one of them was stuffed behind a kick panel. Essentially, if a Baltimore car got a build sheet, it was left/jammed somewhere that it shouldn't have been.

I've got no dog in the fight here. The only way to tell the legitimacy of this car is to go see it. I did get extra photos from the seller and I have to say the car's engine compartment, interior and trunk coincide with what they are advertising.

I did get a few extra pictures from the seller. Other than the classic mistakes of cowl screens and wood grain steering shroud. The car has a lot of correctness going for it.

For as clean as that is, with the miles and docs, isn't that a pretty decent deal?
