scott s 06-01-2017 04:09 PM

Sorry Scott. My comment came across wrong. It wasn't a comment on what you were asking as much as it was on what I could afford...

scott s 06-01-2017 05:05 PM

Dave no issues at all ,I didn't take it that way I was just surprised at what the repos sell for. and stating that.have a good one!!

I just checked on one of our original cars....3 core measures approx. 2"...a 4 core would be about 2.70".

Wilma, Will a 4 core fit on a Nova being the fan is so close on the 3 core?

scott s 06-01-2017 08:13 PM

BB Radiator..

Yes...it will. I have a 4 core in our 70 L78 TH400 car...original Harrison that was 'upgraded' at some point. It is a tight fit and requires a steady hand[s] to install the radiator with the fan in place.

There isn't much room for a wrench once the 4 core is in place. I usually slide a thick terrycloth towel or sheet of bubble wrap between the fan and radiator during the install or removal.

FYI: the only Nova that ever got the 4 core was the 68 Gibb COPO TH400 car. But, in 1968 the BB used a short water pump and a 5 blade clutch fan so space wasn't a problem.
