Wheel change

I was playing around with my Impala yesterday. Mounted some torq thrusts on it. I got the wheels for a very good price over the winter. Put a set of cheap white wall radials on it and away it goes...

I also found an NOS aftermarket K Mart 8 track player for it. I mounted it without drilling any new holes. Hooked it up and it played great.. Nothing like listening to Hotel California through the old speaker system!!

Also found a set of NOS date coded spiral Delco shocks for her and installed those.

The original owner of the car also stopped by to check it out. He got funny/salty after I purchased the car from him. He has come around though and loved seeing the car again. He admitted that he was happy it went to a good home. I still want to get pictures of us together with the car. This summer that will happen... I even told him he could take it out and drive it.

Funny, he told me that the Brooklyn Chevy dealer decal was originally on the top left side of the rear bumper. There were some light scratches in this area on the chrome and he told me those were from him removing the decal years ago when the car was new. Hence, I had to put a decal right back in the same spot plus it covered the scratches!! He also found the original hubcaps for the car and gave me same..

Enjoy the pics....

Tough choice between the ralleys with short caps and the TT wheels. I keep waffling back and forth on my Z going from polished Centerlines back to the YH ralley wheels with bias ply tires. Like the look of the originals, but drives like crap.

Beautiful full size car.

Thanks for the compliments...

Lynn, I am a wheel/tire junkie... I have many different sets that I like to alternate on the cars. It changes the appearance so much.. My Wife says "what another set of tires and wheels" quite often.... LOL....

I'm the same way...nothing changes the look of a car more than wheels and tires.

I like that you chose whitewalls. Very popular in the 1960s, but it seems nobody likes them anymore. Everyone wants white letters, redlines, or blackwalls. The whitewalls really "fit" on a mid-60s car - especially a full size.

A friend of mine has a 59 Corvette -- has wide whites ... would look like crap any other way ... TAZ

----A 59 Corvette with "fuelie" emblems looks bitchin with blackwall bias-plys.......Bill S

Thanks.. Yeah I really like the white walls rather than raised white letters or black walls.

It's old school cool!!! LOL

Looks good Rich. I know that car well. My parents bought a new 67 Impala, 2 door/beige with black interior. We stuffed all 7 of us in that car all the time. Lots of great memories.
