Stunning car!

Mr70 06-06-2017 10:05 AM

Did this car come with Magnum 500 wheels from the factory?

m22mike 06-06-2017 11:07 AM

Possible on a early car ? N66 SS wheel cancelled after Jan. 69 per CRG

camaromb 06-06-2017 03:20 PM

standard or deluxe interior? Looks like both?

Sean 06-06-2017 04:29 PM

Wow beautiful car! I am drooling!!

cook_dw 06-06-2017 04:53 PM

Seller needs to add more photos. Maybe its just me but I never get the warm fuzzies when photos of the important stuff arent shown.

I see some major panel fit issues that lead me to believe this car was in a front end accident. This may be a "pig with lipstick."

Ad said it scored 997 out of 1,000. Maybe it was restored how gm built it. Fit and finish wasn't perfect in 1969 on some cars

Billohio 06-06-2017 05:43 PM

Looks like more than one part isn't the correct shape. Repop parts? I noticed the car has a mix of interior.

True - but it wasn't THAT bad. I seriously doubt Chevy would have let a car like that leave the factory. Look closely at the 2nd photo how the hood doesn't line up with the header panel.

BTW - you can say anything you want in an ad. Doesn't make it a fact.

For comparison sake. This car scored 995 and got the "Gold Spinner Award.."

Aren't those the headlight washers?

Yes...

I was sent the trim tag and pad vin stamp as well as the vin tag. The tags are legit. The vin stamp seems reasonable at this point but I am not were I can compare to others. I will leave it to someone else to post the info as I was not given nor did I ask if I could post the pics.

My bad... Looked like someone had used regular sheet metal screws. Bad assumption that I based on the rest of the pic.

Kurt S 06-07-2017 08:16 PM

Back in 99, it had a return fuel line. I don't like the engine VIN stamp.
Tag is original, IMO.

cook_dw 06-07-2017 08:20 PM

Kurt have you seen the engine code on this pad? I still havent had a chance to compare but you obviously trump me anyways. Just curious. You can pm or email me if that is better.

Kurt S 06-08-2017 05:36 AM

Yes, I have.
Knowing that it had two fuel lines at one time, the POP and the pad don't mean much to me....

cook_dw 06-08-2017 11:17 AM

Agree 100% on the return line. I hadnt seen it and didnt know if you had.

Tires wrong, if wheels are correct

So these would be the correct tires for a N66: Super Sport Wheels Camaro SS?

I thought the Goodyear Polyglas RWL (no size) went into production for Camaros towards the end of 1968 while RPO N66 was cancelled Jan. 1969.

Charley Lillard 06-09-2017 02:00 AM

I have never seen a factory installed Polyglas on a 69. Tire shown is the norm.

Lee Stewart 06-09-2017 02:46 AM

Chevrolet made a revision to the option list dated April 2, 1969:

F70-14/B Fiberglass Belt White Lettered Blackwall….PL4

These would be the tires shown in the original post and only for Camaros built between April and November 1969.

Charley Lillard 06-09-2017 04:27 AM

I know that there is paperwork stating it but in 30 plus years of collecting Camaro's I have never seen a factory installed Polyglas on a 69.

Lee Stewart 06-09-2017 05:06 AM

Charlie:

Would the same hold true for the 1969 Chevelle SS396?

Charley Lillard 06-09-2017 01:13 PM

I can't speak with enough knowledge on a 69 Chevelle SS as I have not been studying and collecting them like I have Camaro's but I think the general consensus is you don't start seeing Polyglas on Chevrolets until 1970. There might be exceptions but I have never seen one.
