1969 Chevelle "KH"
Someone posted this on Facebook.......said it has a KH engine suffix code. :dunno:

Well that would be interesting.....and very rare! Anything to back it up?
|
John Glosser posted it.......this is what he said "Interesting car. "KH" code 396. Have been in contact with owner. Still trying to authenticate everything. Rare if it checks out."
|
What is a KH code 396?
|
L-78 375HP with L-89 Aluminum Head option.

If it were real at that price I am sure it would be long gone by now.... and that color as well.

Where did the KH story originate? Don't see anything about it in the ad.
If I were in the Denver area I would be checking it out. Heck, even an L78 would be a buy at $25k if it really is the original motor. |

I agree.....a L89 would be amazing but even a L78 would be cool. Kurt  |
From the CL ad...."Asking 25000 FIRM Serious offers only"
To my way of thinking, if you put "firm" in capital letters right after the price, that should mean "offers" are not for the making, no? :dunno: |
He said MISFIT garage bought it. If that is the case that car will be ruined.

I spoke with the owner and got some details about the car and motor. The motor has a 1971 VIN on the deck and a CLR code that appeared to be overstamped with a KH code at some point.
The rest of the car appeared to be in very good original condition, and possibly retained its original factory Maroon paint. Trunk was untouched with decent original spatter paint. The buckets were apparently swapped at some point because they had a GTO pattern on them. |
It may have been burgundy originally however there is burgundy overspray all over the 1/4 window U rubber and glass.
|
I was a little skeptical about the D96 side stripes being original because they ended a little too far back on the front fenders.
