Original Paint '70 RS/Z28

Not sure about the original paint claim...the floors look like they have been stripped and painted...but in any case, a very cool Day 2 car.

markinnaples 11-22-2017 03:48 PM

Definitely a killer car

BCreekDave 11-22-2017 06:42 PM

Nice car, but did anyone notice the stripes on the rear spoiler? Is that some kind of optical illusion?

Right side looks crooked on the spoiler??goggles

Crush 11-22-2017 10:08 PM

Seems like a nice car for the money. It would look cool at any local cruise. What do you guys think?

Stripe is mis-aligned ...

The Boss 11-23-2017 01:45 PM

Dream car in high school back in 1980 - still is today.

Would go great with my similar 14k mile 73 day 2 TA.

MarcDant 11-30-2017 11:12 PM

This original paint RS z28 sold for 27.600 , seems like a good deal.

70 copo 12-01-2017 01:12 AM

I love it. I did the stripes on my 70 squat style the way the factory did them, meaning they look aligned close up but squat crooked from a distant view.

This car is so real it is scary.

Dave Rifkin 12-01-2017 12:01 PM

Seems like someone got a killer deal; unless the '70 Z's have come down in price.

The add states 75% original paint.

roeville 12-01-2017 05:55 PM

Its a good buy for what's there. Looks like the rear spoiler was replaced because the emblem is not centered and both rear stripes on the spoiler are incorrect – should be closer to the bottom (and straight).

BCreekDave 12-01-2017 07:01 PM

Makes me an "uneasy rider"...."peace sign, mag wheels and 4 on the floor".

69LM1 12-02-2017 04:23 AM

And check out the dealer......

I would buy it for that.....

chevyman0429 12-02-2017 11:29 AM

Did that car come factory with the floors painted body color?

njsteve 12-02-2017 12:00 PM

No. And they don't paint the fuel and brake lines body color at the factory either. ;-)

It's such a time capsule car. I love that hood!

Was my dream car too. I bought a hugger orange '70 Z-28 my senior year in high school (1980) and still own the car today. Awesome memories with that car.

69LM1 12-05-2017 12:51 AM

Merry Christmas to me...... :)

Rich

scuncio 12-05-2017 02:09 AM

Congrats. Bargain!

sixt9rsx33 12-05-2017 12:01 PM

Congrats! Killer car. Love the Cragers and side pipes.

clm69z28 12-05-2017 06:29 PM

Would love to find a nice original CG RS Z28 someday. LB would be cool too as it would match my 69 Z/28.

69LM1 12-05-2017 08:49 PM

Just a cool ol' school car.

Can't wait to delve into the Penske providence (as a cool factoid nothing more).

Should come back as Zone 1, dealer 015 I believe from NCRS.

Congrats Rich on the Christmas gift. Nice car!!

Charley Lillard 12-07-2017 12:02 PM

Jonesy 12-08-2017 06:13 PM

From the Ad:

Rebuilt 350 not the original motor. original M21 CR 4 speed and 12 bolt rear.
Still think that was a decent buy. Congrats

markinnaples 12-08-2017 06:33 PM

Congrats, that thing is so cool. Please post up more pics when you can.

No sir, but still has a lot of the original parts and take offs (Rims, Engine Parts etc). Seller is a great guy and you should see how well he packed the car for shipping. It was picked up today for shipping to me.

I just need to send him a box for the original hood. I have an 69 aftermarket SS hood still in the box and need to see if that will work for a 70 hood....

Rich

69LM1 12-16-2017 06:58 PM

Got it in today. Killer "Day2" car. Doors are tight and no sag. Engine and Tranny are replacements "Day 2".

Solid body car. Def had some painting done, but nice for a cruiser. Real RS/Z28.

Ill post some pics when I clean it up, she's dusty from the trip.

Rich

MarcDant 12-16-2017 07:08 PM

sixt9rsx33 12-17-2017 01:21 AM

Have fun with it. Very cool ride.

Dave Castine 12-17-2017 12:30 PM

I love all the day-two stuff, takes me back, love the hood, side pipes, and the wheels! Congrats, very well bought - hard not to enjoy that car! So cool!

92646 12-17-2017 02:37 PM

What a fun can car to own and drive. I hope you enjoy the heck out of that car. It was a great buy Rich.

The Boss 12-18-2017 01:15 PM

Those few modified statement cars are our only remaining hold on that period of time.

Far more interesting than a regular restored car of the same period.
