Nice..

Bill Pritchard 02-19-2018 10:39 PM

I was there in March of 1980 and took a whole bunch of pictures......aside from mine being in color, they look pretty much identical to these.

Very cool Bill!

mssl72 02-20-2018 05:58 AM

That one shot of Pollard Ravenscroft is cool. That's where my brothers 1964 Nova is from. Van Nuys Blvd has changed quite a bit. I didn't move out here 'til the late 80s and missed most of that. Cool stuff! Can't wait to see the rest!

day2killa 02-20-2018 12:04 PM

just awesome

Mr70 02-20-2018 12:10 PM

Nice Bill.
Did you know any of those car owners personally back then?,cause 3 of them look like guys I remember.
Bob Hintz,Chris Micelli and Chuck Boksa ring a bell?

Tracker1 02-20-2018 01:17 PM

Way to go Bill!

Tenney 02-20-2018 01:43 PM

Cool, Bill, thanks!

Bill Pritchard 02-20-2018 01:52 PM

Glad everyone enjoyed them. I will scan and post the rest later.

No Rick, I didn't know any of the people pictured.....I was just a tourist. That trip was the first time in my life I had flown on an airplane and the first time I had been to California. Marilee and I flew out there to visit her brother (who still lives there) and her aunt & uncle. We will be going back there in September for our nephew's wedding, but now we can drive there in a few hours :)

Burd 02-20-2018 01:54 PM

Pretty cool.
Closest thing these days to it is Dreamcruise.

seventieshow 02-20-2018 03:25 PM

The real "seventieshow". I would like to have the black Vega in the second picture.

markjohnson 02-20-2018 03:49 PM

It's kind of ironic that when communities & the police started to crack down to put an end to these activities, a TV news crew would be there to interview people and there was ALWAYS that one guy that would say: "My grandparents cruised, my parents cruised, I cruise and my kids are gonna cruise! You can't stop it!". I would've agreed but those days most certainly did come to an end when today's generation of kids are able to stay in contact with each other using cellphones & social media without even leaving their houses!

Centerlines, Centerlines and more Centerlines... Cool Pics

Jonesy 02-20-2018 10:38 PM

Great pics. Brings back the way cars looked back in the day. I kept mine stock, so I was kind of in the minority back then.

southernfriedcj 02-21-2018 01:20 AM

Cool!

Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain, GA was our version of that. The cops cracked down and killed the cruise around 1980-1981.

Nice find.

I surprised how many trucks were cruising. There were only a few around here and they were all full size, no imports.

Crush 02-21-2018 02:33 AM

Cruising Gratiot on east side of Detroit looked just like that in my day! Good times!

BJCHEV396 02-21-2018 11:42 PM

Cool pics....thanks for posting Tracker!!

L78_Nova 02-22-2018 03:03 AM
