'69 Chevelle SS396 Post Sedan - real or not?
Seller sounds like he's not sure whether this one was ordered from the factory as a Super Sport. The car is far from a 'survivor' so it's hard to say just from visual evidence, but it would be nice to see a pic of the trim tag....
Neat car nonetheless. Link to 1969 Chevelle Post Sedan auction https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/g8cAA...tF/s-l1600.jpg |
Not a chevelle expert by any means. The Muncie shifter in my original SS chevelle is much different. A friend back in the day had a Malibu 350 4 spd that had that exact shifter. Just an observation.

I wouldn't call myself a Chevelle expert by any means, but that looks like a dead ringer for the bench seat Muncie shifter I've had in two original cars I've owned, FWIW.

There's a whole lot of mish mash parts on this car. Would be fun to see if it was local.

dusk blue is not an SS color.

For the record.... VIN *134279B409908 1969 Chevelle is a Clone, Not a real SS396.

Bill,
I like to give car guys the benefit of the doubt :) Dan |
fo paw.............. does'nt SS CHEVELLES have colors that were only available on them? Or the L on the trim tag.
|
Correct....Monaco Orange and Daytona Yellow.....classic colors :)

Just curious....Are those 68 Malibu interior door panels on the car?

The Rears are re-covered 1970-72, hence the rear arm rest / ash tray. Dan |
Actually, the doors are off a 1968 as the lock button is towards the back. A true 1969 lock button is farther forward, easier to reach, but hurts the elbow when resting on it.....lol
1968 Novas are the same way. Kurt |
