After cars and coffee, most of us headed over to Pavilions for the McDonalds Rock and Roll Car and Bike Show. So happy I bought a classic car with working AC!!

OMG....I have not seen one of those in an eternity, and I'm none the worse for it. You would think that Chevrolet and AMC would have known better than naming one of their car models Citation and Pacer (respectively) since they were both formerly models of the Edsel :eek2:

I suppose some people (and companies) believe they can change history.

Thanks for the pics. Those Vista Cruisers are cool, and I guess I never realized that the Citation X-11's were offered in 4 doors as well as 2 doors.

I don't recall that, either. Quite possible that someone just added the decals to that car.

markinnaples 04-30-2018 02:00 PM

FWIW, Wikipedia says only coupes and 2 door hatchbacks were X-11s. No mention of any 4 door X-11's.

The 4-dr X11 Citation is a new one on me. I had a Silver '82 X11 as a daily driver back in the '80's so I've always paid attention to those cars. They have HO V6's, fiberglass ducted hoods, great suspension, etc.

x33rs 05-01-2018 02:56 PM

He drives that to the Pavs fairly regularly. I've parked next to him a couple of times. Nice guy. Hardly saw any of these when they were new, let alone now, so it does grab your attention. Thought never crossed my mind that it couldn't be real. I would imagine not an easy car to duplicate. Although pictures don't show it, it does have the correct functional air cleaner components and ducted hood. I'm guessing that isn't reproduced, and probably not easy to find and clone one of these things.
Pretty sure I remember the sign for it says it's a low mile original car. Kind of neat to see either way.
