Wow...Very Loaded '68 Camaro RS/SS396

Probably the most loaded '68 I've ever seen. Not necessarily my cup of tea, but it's neat seeing all the factory accessories on one car.

I believe the luggage rack is not a GM item. Very interesting car otherwise.

A friend that has a couple GM luggage racks says that is probably a JC Whitney or other non GM. He also pointed out the underhood light is on the wrong side of the car. It is supposed to be over the dipstick. Also the fiber optic piece under the rear window does not look right.

Good call Charley...the luggage rack is just bad.

Neat car, but no documentation to prove any of those options were fitted to the car as-built, plus the P-o-p looks like a second owner style, without drivetrain details.

Camaro..

Interesting car...but I think it has been apart before. Looks like the SS emblem is upside down on the front grille.

plus the top and bottom of the grill are missing black paint.

Probably the heaviest '68 Camaro ever made and changing spark plugs on the passenger side gives the owner a glimpse into the life of a BBF Mustang owner.

I noticed the sales invoice said DEMO. I saw a similar equipped 68 a few years back that had been a demo for a Seattle area dealer, lots of the same options. I wonder how long it had been a demo as the sale date is Aug 1968.

Well the story in the ebay listing (car stolen during dealer prep, recovered later with damage that was repaired) if true, might explain why it was eventually sold as a demo rather than brand new, possibly also explaining why it was heavily discounted.

Wire wheelcovers are definitely different. Nice change from Rally wheels.

Cool car and owner story!
I'm not much for options but could live w/ all but that luggage rack.:p
Sale date reflected in price w/ the new 69's rolling in.:hmmm:
:beers:

And the headlight doors are not aligned very well.
