Trying to find 69Z 124379N621880
Assisting car friend acquaintance (Dan) to find the 69 Z/28 with vin 124379N621880. It was sold several times during 2017 so this Z/28 with aforementioned vin exists. Looking for any help in finding and contacting the current owner due to Dan having the original block which he recently added to the CRG orphan list. The block is factory stamped with partial vin “19N621880” and DZ engine assembled March 19, 1969.
This Z/28 is Burnished Brown, White vinyl roof and stripes with white vinyl interior and was advertised with a recent restoration when it was sold at an auction last year. Believe last known sales was at St Louis Car Museum And Sales, lot # RST-714704. Thanks in advance for any possible assistance. The only goal here is to earnestly try to get the engine back with the Z/28 it was born with. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1841/...7a9a537bb1.jpg Car picture courtesy of Rick Carey’s Collector Car Auction Results: https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1894/...b87241f478.jpg |
Good luck with the search Chick. I didn't think I would like it with the white hat, but I love it. I am of course partial to Burnished Brown!

I think that car was for sale somewhere in the mid-west at a collector car dealer. Pretty sure I saw it in Hemings earlier this year.

So...........in other words when a car is advertised as "numbers matching engine" it just means that the numbers on that engine match the car, not to be confused with it not being the original factory installed born with engine, because that matching number engine is no longer with the matching number car...gogglesI completely understand now......I think

"Under the hood resides the original DZ-code 302ci V8 proving 290 factory rated horsepower."

Yeah, but somewhere someone thinks that they already have the original 302 in their car.

Wow, i would hate to be making that call to the owner telling him you have his original engine. I do not think it would go over very well.

Lot # S114 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 2-Dr. Hardtop; S/N 124379N621880; Burnished Brown, White vinyl roof and stripes/White vinyl; Recent restoration, 2+ condition; Hammered Sold at $56,000 plus commission of 10.00%; Final Price $61,600. With Reserve. – 302/290hp, 4-speed, Rally wheels, Wide Oval tires, spoilers, 12-bolt rear end, Positraction, power steering, power brakes, Hurst shifter, chambered exhaust. – Represented as the matching numbers engine. Spotless, fresh engine bay and underbody. Gorgeous paint and chrome. Excellent restored interior other than an unfortunate large crack in the console. Even gaps. Mostly better than factory and finished in rare, pretty colors. – Quite a bargain for a genuine Z/28 in this condition and with this equipment. First gen Z/28 prices have been retreating a bit over the past year, and this result doesn’t show them rebounding. In a further retreat it went to Auburn Fall a month later and sold for $52,250. |
I hope he is sees the value in this. A friend of mine sold a '71 LT1 corvette with a hot rod engine in it and offered the guy the complete original LT1, but the guy was not interested in the original engine. Some people don't seem to get it.
