69 big block camaro with a yenko block
Craigslist ad, Not sure if it could be considered a copo or yenko car. https://cleveland.craigslist.org/cto...704486210.html

Original 6cyl car judging by the VIN.

and a TRUCK bellhousing..

Yeah, that truck bell housing can damage the transmission. There are a few other things that I would change too, but it's a nice car anyway.

Subject VIN 123379L519198 Cool car that needs a few things including removal of hokey rad support badge. Enjoyed as is, the 6-popper Vin means little but cars like this are also just one jackass fraudster away from a whole other identity we could be looking at here in the future? :beers: ~ Pete . |
“No aftermarket parts”....my a**. Tells me all I need to know about how reputable seller is.

How could the truck bellhousing damage the transmission?

The hole in the bell housing is what lines up the transmission with the crankshaft. If the hole is too large then the transmission will not line up correctly and it can damage the input shaft, gear, bearing and pilot bushing. It could also damage the pilot area on the main shaft and cause the gears to break if it's off a lot. There is about .440" difference in the hole size between the car and truck bell housing, so there is a lot of room for the transmission to be out of alignment, depending on how much clearance there is in the bolt holes. Maximum recommended out of center for the transmission is about .005".

Thanks guys. I thought they made that style bellhousing with both size holes. I have been wrong before and I'm sure I'll be wrong again.

It's possible, but the first thing that went through my mind when I saw the picture was that it was a truck bell housing. I've got a bell housing from a '79 Z28 that might be similar to that one, but I can't remember.
