Paul Offutt Yenko Collection at Kissimmee
Does anybody know anything about the Fathom Green 69 Yenko Camaro and Fathom Blue 70 Yenko Nova in this collection? I've seen the other four cars in this collection numerous times over the years, but I've never seen those two cars to my knowledge. The selling dealers and other pertinent information are not listed for those two. If anyone is going to Kissimmee I would be interested to know which cars these two are.
Thanks, Myron |

Yes, that's what I was looking for thanks! I have never actually seen those two cars before. It's interesting that all four Yenko Camaros have the same auction estimate of $250K - $300K all things considered.
|
One of the Yenko Camaros has a DISTURBING history
|
I always thought it was usually better to not sell more than one of the same rare car (or whatever) at the same time.
I'd personally rather have the only Yenko Camaro at the auction... and not sell others together. |

My guess is the body is in question ?

Yes. You get 2 for the price of 1

If absolutely true, shouldn't there be some reference to this noted on the Registry here? Sorry but seeing Jerry papers and other stuff on the Registry as some examples have seems silly if the important facts aren't included? :hmmm: ~ Pete . |
To uphold the standards of the registry I think information should be shared if validated through credible sources
|
Good thoughts on the registry including these type of details. Right now, we keep a lot of notes in a confidential section. Interested buyers can ask the group in the public forum here - just like this thread is doing. I'm a little hesitant to put negative comments in print - could expose the registry to litigation when an owner sees it. There's always the argument about - when does extensive metal work equal a re-body? If just the firewall survives - is the car really re-bodied? Age old discussion.
I can move the confidential comments to the public side of the spreadsheet, but Steve would have to be OK with it. |

… Very good point :beers: ... |

Not the Peck deuce. Peck is 354665 and an auto. And is still in Quincy. Would be interested in a previous owner history, and who did the resto. Looks nice.

My opinion is as follows: If the owner of a car in the registry provides us with a copy of an inspection report we will make it public with the owners authorization. If they don't want it public it will be noted that one exist along with inspectors name. Making information available that is second and third hand is not valid. In addition it exposes the site/registry to litigation. Biased opinions and hearsay can lead us down a slippery slope. If you are interested in any car it's always recommended to have it inspected, along with researching who restored and ownership history. |
Steve,
Well done, a well written opinion. Say for instance a car is maligned in a way that turns out to be unsubstantiated then say the owner of said car does take legal action... where does that leave the paying members as far as potential liability goes? |
anyone know any of the blue/auto cars ownership history?
|
Yes.
|
|
ever owned in ohio?
|
IMO - the process is working beautifully. If anybody wants to know the history, rumors, etc. of a car. Just post an inquiry on this site & follow-up on the comments. Then sort out the truth from the unsubstantiated rumors by contacting the individuals who post responses. There is a tremendous body of knowledge on this site & most members are willing to help.

I know the Illinois previous owner

Totally agree with Berry,...I have found this site , and the members here, invaluable in separating out real cars , good cars , from lets just say .....the rest

Is there some sort of secret about this Yenko?
https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthre...hlight=Francis |
from 2009
Based on our further and intensive inspection, and due to the extensive sheet metal repairs performed on this Yenko Camaro, our opinion is that it should be considered to have been rebodied. The complete and original cowl section containing the original confidential VINs appears to have been welded at the factory spot weld points on the restored car. We believe the trim tag, the VIN tag, the original engine and many other Yenko/COPO components are original to this Yenko. This stunning and significant Yenko has won numerous show awards including: 984 points at the 27th annual Diamond Certification at the US Camaro Club Top Gun for best Restored Chevrolet at the Chevy Vette Fest Nationals Numerous Gold Spinner Awards, Chevy Vette Fest Nationals Placed Third at the Milwaukee Masterpiece Concourse This information has been provided to the best of our knowledge. Please email [email protected] with any additional questions. It will be at the Mecum Auction in Indy. |
"Is there some sort of secret about this Yenko?"
No secret if a potential auction bidder in 2019 recalls 10 year old "for sale" thread posted on Yenko.net where you noted that the car, in your opinion, was a rebody. That disclosure confirms what most know - you represented this car ethically. Unfortunately, the auction listing for this car doesn't disclose the "secret" which Doug mentioned in this thread. Bottom line IMO - ask the experts here before spending your hard earned $$. |
Looks like the Deuce did a shot. Must have been a great car. Camaros (COPO and Yenkos from this collection) all DNS. No telling where the real bidders dropped out.
|
Anyone know who bought the Deuce?
|
Nope!! I think Randy DeLisio did the resto for Don Fezell about 10'ish years ago....
|
The Deuce odometer has been around once...

All of these replies are the reason why people should pay to subscribe to this website.
The knowledge of the members on this site is priceless. The LB Yenko car is super cool, but being a subscriber to the site gives people pertinent information about certain cars, good or bad. So, if/when you buy a vehicle in question, you can have confidence with your purchase. |
Nice Web site.
