I know someone from this site owned this car at one time....

For 50k you would think they could put the horn button on correctly. Pretty cool car. I like the functioning (appears that way) cowl induction hood. Nice touch. But I could do without some of the other bling type add ons, like the carbon fiber dash inserts. |

LOL, I can just hear the salesman saying, "oh that is just a minor adjustment to straighten out that horn button". Rich |
I can imagine how nice that car would look with a clean set of factory rallies and some period correct radials. It would look twice as good with normal size wheels.
Kind of a shame to not put that one back 100% factory stock, considering how rare of a car it is. There are plenty of early 70's Monte's out there that could be set up with LS power. Oh well. His car, his way.
This one is still looking for a good home...relisted in the link below.

When i sold that car it was all #s matching and orig...what a shame...
This one still seems to be looking for a home - it's been relisted in the link below. I can't help but think it would have been an easier sell if it had stayed stock.

That car would cost more than its worth to return it to stock, IF, it still had the original drivetrain with it. A shame indeed.
Monte's are very hard to move.

I would have much rather had it before all of the drive train swap. The 402, 4 speed and 3.31 would have been much better.

He must be hittin' that pipe if he thinks that is a 50k car. |
how rare are the 4 speed montes? ive got whats left of one that's been in my salvage cars for around 20 years.
According to the first gen Monte Carlo website 589 were built with the 402/4 speed combo in 1970. With special paint in Hugger Orange that's a holy grail Monte Carlo IMO. In 1971 there were only 80 402/4 speeds built!
Was a holy grail Monte Carlo before the upgrades I mean.
The numbers I have are 589 402 and 839 SB 4 speed cars built in 70.

He comes down another 33k and I'm all over it.
Getting hard to watch this one being relisted again and again...someone please buy it and enjoy it already. I'm thinking this is a car that would do extremely well at Barrett Jackson...seriously, the restomods are bringing more $$ than I've ever seen in my lifetime.
