Saw it on FB. Guy also has a Bill Thomas logo Corvette

I recall it being discussed in 2011, some speculation it was a recreation, but not sure if it was proven or disproved. Seems the pictures have started recirculating.

If SRV had a 69 Camaro, this is what it would look like......Love it.

One of the aspects that seems conflicting is the car having both 'Yenko' and 'Dana' on it, East and West coast hi-po dealers on the same vehicle?

What about Casey's 4 COPO Corvair that was both Yenko and Dana?

Had no knowledge of it, but found the thread here about it. Seems that it was supplied by Yenko to Dana, but without Yenko badges. Presumably by agreement. So it still seems strange to see a car lettered prominently with both dealers.

Our understanding in the Stinger world on Casey's car is that Dana figured out you could order COPO Corvairs after the initial run of 66 Stingers. Casey's car was ordered with 3 other COPO's by Dana. They were going around Yenko and doing it themselves. We call his car the Dana COPO, since Yenko had nothing to do with it. To me it is more rare and unique than the 67' Stingers.

Looks like an old Z10 with existing patina to which someone added extra patina/aged lettering. I think it's been discussed on here, maybe a few years back.

ZLP955 05-14-2020 09:02 PM

Thought that too, but the rear stripes don't look correctly placed, for the timeframe of Z10 production.

I've learned to never say never, but couldn't the owner send off for the dealership delivery info on the Camaro?:confused2:

Also what are the odds that the guy also has/found a Bill Thomas logoed (also faded) Corvette?

:hmmm:

Don't know if it's a real Z10 or not, but doubt the lettering is added and aged intentionally.

That was pretty much my takeaway.

pardon my ignorance, could you get the Z10 with the Z28? I don't recall that, but im no expert on camaros.

ZLP955 05-15-2020 03:36 AM

No, one or the other but not both.

COPO140 05-15-2020 02:40 PM

I inquired about this car many years ago, it's a made up car meant to look vintage.

that's what I thought. thanks. so is this car a white with orange stripe Z or is it a Z10 that someone added the Z28 emblems?

ZLP955 05-16-2020 12:04 AM

Might be neither. Still hoping someone that has seen the car up close may have noted the firewall tag details, or the VIN. I'm sure I have a photo somewhere of this car with the hood up at a Pomona swapmeet, but haven't found it yet (nor do I recall how much engine bay detail was visible).

njsteve 05-16-2020 10:39 PM

I'm surprised they didn't add a Grand Spaulding Dodge name on it too, just so they could get the middle of the country covered as well. ;-)

COPO140 05-19-2020 03:36 PM

From what I recall this was an early LA car. I think I have the VIN somewhere.

ZLP955 05-19-2020 11:19 PM

Early LA build might explain the stripes, but if it was originally Dover with HO stripes, it'd have to be a special paint car, and somehow anticipated the Z11/Z10 scheme!
