60's - 70's Muscle Car Commercials Judge, Mach 1, Road Runner
I thought this might be a good thread to start. TV car commercials were quite creative back in the day. The big 3 were focused on a hot market, their target audience was young adults who wanted to own the hottest cars of the day. I'm sure our members have a few favorites to share....

Character Sheriff J.W. Higgins,(played by Joe Higgins),made his first appearance in a Dodge car commercial in the fall of 1969,and is who the Sheriff J.W. Pepper character was modeled after in the 1973 James Bond movie,Live and Let Die.
He is also who Jackie Gleason modeled his character after,(Buford T. Justice),later on in the movie Smokey & The Bandit. |

I believe these are Joey Chitwood stunt drivers doing a Chevy Promo piece. They were known for signature maneuvers such as these.Notice though, that the Corvair was at the back, just in case the swing-axle demons should rear it's ugly head! :)
