Even if the car was free, you'd be waaayyyyyyy upside down doing a full resto on that. Shame, because it appears so complete and original, and all that paperwork....wow.

----A guy with a nice 73 Camaro base drivetrain could make himself a nice Z clone. Not for deception but for fun. Drivetrain is worth 5 grandish......Bill S

This car is a parts car. Not worth restoring at all. A smog 73 Camaro. Remove parts that would sell, then junk the rest out.

DW31S 12-06-2020 11:30 PM

Whaddya wanna bet that paperwork surfaces sometime down the road associated with a superb restoration.....(rebody). ‘73 Zs are coming on a bit in price and I have a hunch that’s what will happen here.

Billohio 12-06-2020 11:38 PM

Cars 5 minutes from my house and I saw enough in the pictures!!

Not worth it. Car is a rust bucket. Parts car.

OMG, I just looked at the original auction where it got bid up to $6450....and didn't meet the reserve!!! Now listed at no reserve, so it will be interesting to see where it goes.

The best picture was the original facebook ad with a shot from the rear. Nothing left

Charlierogers 12-12-2020 02:48 PM

did all 73 z28 come with woodgrain dash inserts?

No, only the Type LT models, which this car is one. The non-LT models got a light grey dash panel.

Kind of an important picture that the seller "forgot" to post!

Yep, another case of, he should have taken the money and run.
I'm on board that it will come back as a re-body too. A person would have to be nuts to start rebuilding from what little is left of that car. I lived in MN for 67 years and our cars rust BAD, but that one takes the prize for worst I've seen.

Such a shame with all that paperwork - we would die to have......agree, unfortunately not worth the $$ to put into it.

Those cars are notorious for rotted rubber subframe bushings which could lead to sheetmetal alignment problems. A buyer would be wise to inspect them.

Agreed. Be sure to inspect the trunk pan for any signs of corrosion as well.

I would say there is some corrosion in the trunk floor!

I'm so confused...what is keeping the rear axle of that '73 off the bumpstops?

Most likely wooden blocks.
