Nice California Survivor '69 GTO

Not a pristine car by any means, and not even a lifelong CA car, but pretty unmolested, and a breath of fresh air among restored cars.

I think the current bid price is pretty close to market value.

69 Goat...

I like it...a simple muscle car.

I'd have to take those door guards off though

I hate those stupid body side moldings. They riveted those things on and put holes in every body panel. I can't believe how many cars got this treatment, mostly out West. Someone made a fortune selling this product and doing great harm (IMHO) in the mean time. Ugh!

Literally how I began mig welding...fixing those drilled holes in otherwise perfect CA doors!

Fresh Air ..... Yes.

I like em as found.

Do the mechanics, buff/polish and drive.

It needs the correct air cleaner to spruce up the engine bay.

All GTO’s came with a chrome air cleaner lid. This one should also have the dual snorkel bottom as shown below.

From the auction wording....
"I have not attempted to start or do anything mechanical to the car."

:rolleyes2: Buyer beware, might be getting a pig in a poke.

The seller is savvy enough to show the pop and window sticker, with other cars in the back ground, but never tried starting the car, knowing it would sell for more. I don't believe the bidding either.

Nice color combo. Bench seat probably hurts it, but it's unique that way. Wish I still had my '69 survivor, bought it from the original owner's in 1987.

Pretty colors on that one.

I think part of the issue is the white rubber in the molding (which I didn't know you could even do) on the light body color.

I have them on my Chevelle since new and they've saved me a couple times. They also have not helped on a couple occasions. But in any case, the black rubber on a dark body color certainly makes them a bit more discreet.

Sidebar: I also found a couple NOS set of the moldings and front/rear wheel opening moldings stored in my dad's garage as I was cleaning it out. I'll be hanging on to those.

Wow, I sure lowballed the price at about half where it ended up. Sold for $25k and change...insane.
