Anyone know this 69 Yenko?
1 Attachment(s)
The car was originally sold in Iowa and raced from day one. It supposedly ended up with a small block and a 4 speed in the late 1970s, repainted solid orange, then disappeared. It's unknown if the Yenko badging stayed on it. The VIN isn't known but from the picture it's a Doug Mosch car.
Thanks Ed |
Painted red, white, blue. Raced in Minnesota.
It’s a Daytona yellow car. My dad knew the car from new. Currently in Iowa in Dennis albaugh collection |

the owner was on FB asking about it and Rick N. helped the guy find the past owner and they turned up some pictures. The yellow pic is after restoration.

Sorry for sidetracking but what of the '70 Harrell car in the 10/72 ad Joe posted? Kim's car or the Green one Steve S. had or maybe another known/unknown?:hmmm: :beers: ~ Pete . |
Matt, are you sure this is the same car? This one has a vinyl top and the other one doesn't.
Ed |
I know Dennis albaugh got the car, and it was an original vinyl top car. I’m
Guessing it got the top back on recently. When I was a little kid looking at the car it didn’t have the top. Matt |
Ok, Thanks again Matt.

Unless Dennis albaugh got rid of it for another yellow one, the Doug mosch car was forsure in his collection. I tracked that car down, as I was hoping to buy it. Being it was a local car and seeing it as a kid.

Dennis may have more than 1 Daytona Yellow 69 Yenko Camaro. The one with the black vinyl top is N615226 and was sold new at Gates Chevrolet. I have pictures of that car from the Good Guys Show in Columbus in '19. The other Daytona Yellow car without the vinyl top looks like N578842 which was sold new at Hult Chevrolet.

There is a member on here that contacted me when I was looking for it. He was the caretaker of Dennis’s collection. N615226 Is the mosch car. He may chime in.

The picture above is of N578842. That exact picture was used in the Barrett Jackson auction of that car in Scottsdale in 2016. It is an X66 car with no vinyl top. George Lyons owned it at that time. I don't know who bought it. The picture from the Good Guys show is N615226 and it has been in it's current condition with a vinyl top since at least 2014. It was sold at Mecum Monterey in 2016. It was owned by Dennis Albaugh in 2019 when I last saw it. So to answer an earlier questions there are two different Daytona Yellow Yenkos pictured in this thread.

That’s what I was starting to think. A lot of people mix up the mosch car with “ground pounder”
Both yellow, both raced from Fargo nd, and both owned by the schwindt brothers back in the day. The schwindts bought the car from Doug mosch. They were friends with my dad. |
