Low Option '70 Camaro, 6/3-sp Stick, Lifelong CA Car

Neat car...priced too high IMO but would be interesting around $6-7k. Definitely has some coastal CA rust but I'm sure the underbody and structure is pristine. Nice start to something very cool.

Wow that's a bare bones Camaro. Female original owner.

Keith Seymore 08-22-2021 05:11 PM

Aww - that's Burd's buddy. I met him at a Cars and Coffee at Burd's house earlier this year.

I'm a little surprised to see the guy letting it go. He seemed really proud of the car and its history.

My wife had one like that when we were first married, nearly 40 years ago. It was a '76 (same exterior color, white interior, 6 cylinder and three speed floor shift).

I had to pull the cylinder head and redo the valves. When I paid for the work the shop gave me a free T shirt.

That's the car that coined the phrase "Well....I got a free T shirt" whenever she asks how much something had cost.

Her reply is always "uh oh".

My wife has something similar....a black Summit Racing hat that she wears to the pool sometimes. Whenever someone inquires about it she tells them it's a $400 hat, and they threw in a free clutch with the hat

Looks like I/we underestimated what someone would be willing to pay for this one...currently sitting at $10,500 with a single bid, and less than 2 hours left in the auction.

Well, looks like this car has come full circle, and is for sale AGAIN by a new owner in southern California, where it lived all those years:

OO traded in a 63 Corvair when buying this Camaro.

BCreekDave 10-13-2021 02:43 PM

I had a chance to ride in this car a few months ago and it had been so long since I had ridden in such an original car from this era it was interesting how smooth it rode. Ohio roads are not known for their smoothness, but this car just soaked up every bump and expansion joint and really did keep pace with highway traffic at 75+ (once up to speed). I'm sure it doesn't handle the turns as well as a new car, but for a really nostalgic ride quality it was amazing really.

I have a hard time believing the "Car is 100% unmolested... just as it was bought in 1970!"
You can clearly see the previous Bondo and paint work in this picture.

scuncio 10-16-2021 02:45 PM

I agree - it has definitely seen some action.

Relisted in the link below, for $14,900.

You sure? Not a scam? Different seller, different state. The guy, I know him, from Powell, Oh. This new seller is in Cali. Maybe a flipper?

Billohio 10-17-2021 02:21 PM

It just struck me I know the guy in Powell also. small world.

I would assume it was sold and flipped...if not, let me know and I'll report it!

BCreekDave 10-17-2021 09:54 PM

I know it was sold out of Ohio, but not for sure where to. I ended up buying the trunk mat out of it before it went. Hard to find a good original mat.

scuncio 10-19-2021 01:21 AM

Now relisted for $13,750 in the link below.
