Double copo Camaro?
Is there such a thing? I know nothing about Camaros but so much gets thrown around on the internet
https://youtu.be/CdIN0ctOJRQ |
Yes.
Chevrolet also offered COPO #9737, required COPO 9560 or 9561. Included 140 mph speedo, 15 x 7 rally wheels w/E70 x 15 tires and a larger front stabilizer bar. All Yenko ordered Camaros had #9737 along with many of the Berger Camaros. A few other dealers also ordered their COPOs with #9737. Technically would have been possible to order a Camaro with 4 COPO options. Some COPOs were ordered with COPO #9511, 4.56 rear axle ratio. There was also a COPO single hood stripe, seen on a few cars ordered through Courtesy Chev, Sebring Ohio. At least one of their COPOs had it, along with #9561 and #9737. |
I've always wondered about this too. What was the difference between COPO #9560 and #9561?

Thanks for the pic. I like the way that looks.

I agree. That looks really cool (yes, we said that decades ago).
|
Was there ever a dual (Z/28 style) COPO hood stripe on the hood only.. in conjunction with the fender stripes?
|
Hood stripe
Any designation on the trim tag for the hood stripe?

No info on the rally green SS. |
It's such a cool looking stripe I wonder why more "tribute" cars dont apply it.

Thanks Lee. That looks fantastic.
Obviously, the green SS whereabouts are fine from the looks on the faces seen here. :flag: |

Here’s the Courtesy pic I had posted in the other thread 1903USMCU started. Found online noted as Courtesy Sebring Copo, note funky hood paint but looks more dual stripe?:hmmm: :beers: ~ Pete . |

William, was there a factory option code for this single stripe? If there was, was it always applied along with the D90 striping option? I don't see any reference of the single stripe option in CRG's website. |
The single center stripe appears to be exclusive to Courtesy Chev. No mention on CRG because it was not a regular production option.

If you notice …as delivered by transport ….the derby caps are not installed. Unless I am blind. And it’s 15”

this is from a magazine article on the Harrell shop building a 427 COPO Camaro
I don't know if Harrell painted the stripe or if it was factory special paint From some of the comments I read online from drag racers, Harrell had a lot of 427 COPO cars that were sent to him for race prep, some by Chevy dealers , some by the car owner . One guy said he was there and remembers a bunch of 69 427 Camaros all jammed in around the shop. He said many were ZL-1s which he said they called "the golden Camaros". |

Here is a Courtesy RS/COPO (the car previously mentioned as having a white interior....there were sheets on the seats from the OO's wedding day in a previous photo)
The original owner bought car off the lot and stripes were already on it. They were on the hood only. OO kept the car till 1971. |

Here is a pic of the WS...(some data redacted for obvious reasons...have a copy of the complete sheet). I've known about the car for 15 years or so...posted this pic on a Camaro site years ago..
Unfortunately the ECL codes for the stripes is missing (small torn section of the sheet when area unfolded). Notice it says "Hood" and doesn't mention anything about "Deck" |
WS
Not just the ECL code unfortunately the RPO code also…..
