'69 Camaro RS/Z

Interesting car that looks to have been resprayed years ago. Rarely seen 'BO' 3.73 open diff 12-bolt rear on this one. Supposed to have a California heritage which seems consistent with the clean undercarriage.

Not a lot of great information in the auction description, but might be worth a look if you're close to Arkansas....

I owned N596947 from 1983-1989. Did much of the resto work on it. It was born an RS-Z/28 with 712 interior. I added the ducted hood and tilt wheel. Had a nom DZ engine.

The 'California heritage' comes from selling it to Jim Dyer, Stockton CA in 1989. Far as I know it was in WI prior to my purchase. Last saw it at Russo-Steele 2012, believe it stayed in Scottsdale AZ for several years afterwards.

Very cool, William!

Ad states the "Car was resprayed in the '90s..."

Well, close. Long-time bud Jack painted and striped the car for me about 1986. Done in lacquer in a 2-car garage [4 light fixtures] on the NW side of Milwaukee. I bought the materials [$400] Jack charged me $800. I was somewhat of a pest so I gave his wife $50. We still laugh about that. Or at least I do.

He went on to paint several other cars for us including ZL-1#4 and a '67 Z/28 now in the Brothers Collection. He restored a black '68 Z/28 in the early 2000s that won Best Paint at a Goodguys show. Did ALL of it including building the drive train. All this in a small garage.

A beautiful facility is nice but nothing replaces skill and talent.

Yes, no one knew when they started doing that back then. Shouldn't be there.

Last time it was on ebay the ad stated the DZ engine had been removed but was with the car. Better get some assurances.

I really like this car. Hugger Orange RS. Definitely a nice combo.

Did the car have the original engine when you sold it? Thanks

Seems like a good price for the buyer. Am I missing something? Folks are asking 10k less than that for #'s HO project cars.

No, engine and trans not original to the car. I added the ducted hood, posi, am/fm, tilt column and N34 wheel. Someone else added power steering.

Nice driver, that's it.

Is there a way to find the seller's contact information when they sell via Ebay? Messaged him via Ebay and got no response.

No phone number in the ad and Ebay doesn't permit sending the seller one's number.

I tried a google search of Arkansas Facebook assuming it is listed there, but I can't get to Arkansas Facebook.

southernfriedcj 09-09-2022 12:15 AM

Sold for $65,900.

I wanted it, but I messaged the seller via Ebay a week ago with two questions and he never got back to me.

I asked a couple of questions as well the previous time that it was listed. I believe it was a third party that was handling the listing from the sound of the response I got.
