2025 Corvette
I just spewed my coffee onto the computer.
What are these people at GM thinking??:bs: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a4...te-brand-2025/ |
They are thinking "It worked for Porsche."
|
I can see it now: Here's comes the Corv-Aztek

How about Corv-nox?? |
The only thing surprising to me is that it has taken this long for them to compete in those markets; considering Porsche as mentioned, Lamborghini and Ferrari have been building them for years.

FORD leads gM copies Gotta keep up with the "Mustang" brand now, I guess.
So, gM is next to try out the "Lifestyle Brand" business model. Harley-Davidson Jeep RAM Lululemon Adidas Timberland Fubu Now "Mustang" is on it's way And "Corvette" is following GM has tried this a few times already by offering Cadillac performance cars and it has not gone well and notably Porsche didn't call their SUV a 911 though, did they? If GM had this mindset in 1974 instead of cancelling the Z28 to preserve the original heritage they would have made the Z28 a "brand" applying the designation as a handling package and a cosmetic package across the board. The last 25 years has brought us marketing and margins uber alles, even at the expense of the very product you make and the consumers you rely on. |
The short: when everything is a “Corvette”, then nothing is
|
I agree, Chevrolet/GM have been late to the game on many occasions. But at least they're in the game.
