'66 Impala Super Sport, #s 425hp 427

Clean car - and with my favorite Bright Blue interior.

This one is fairly close to me if anyone has an interest. The selling dealership has a ton of very cool and desirable cars....

----Lafontain has bought all three new car dealerships in our little town (St. Clair Mi.) in the last year. GM,Ford, and Chrysler. The GM and Chrysler both belonged to the same family and became available thru the passing of the owner. These purchases are not the only dealers they have bought lately! Oh yah,,,nice 66 425 Impala. Wouldn't mind owning it, but maybe a bit pricey....Bill S

Yep, gorgeous car, and one I would like to own. But I agree the price seems a bit strong, especially since I find no mention of any paperwork to back up the claim of original L72 car, or stampings on the block to verify.

Is it me, or are those snorkels way to far apart? Idler pulley looks like a truck pulley but its hard to tell.

I will be in this show room on Wednesday looking at a few cars if anyone needs a eye on this car!

Idler is correct. Air cleaner is wrong, it is from something later.

Beautiful car, but way too many missing or incorrect parts and errant resto details for that kind of price tag, IMO.

I was in there on the 13 and glanced at the car as it caught me eye but thats it. I have a client that interested in a couple cars they have so I will more then likely will be in there on Wednesday. If that ends up being the case I’ll take a good look at it and snap a few pictures . Anything particular you wanna see ?

I did go to their website and there is a pic of the block stamp. Not very good, but I can see the ID suffix for assembly application and what looks like a partial vin, but there is a small c prefix that looks odd.

Underside pics for evidence of rust issues or panel replacement ?

Yeah a few obvious things wrong, which makes me wonder about the rest of it.

66' Impala SS-427 L-72

My older Brother had a white on white Bucket, SS-396 4-speed car he bought from the original owner back in 1972 I helped him do a frame on restoration with a paint job (my 3rd) in 1974. I am a big fan of the 66' Super Sport Impala and had a sizable collection of all NOS part to restore mine, but sold it all with the project car. One would think the seller would at least level out the front bumper so it doesn't look like someone jacked the center of it with a chain. Yes the air cleaner assembly is wrong for a 66' L-72 Impala. I had an early take off / original one in my collection of parts. You've got to love the lines of the 66' fastback Impala coupe, especially from the side. BIG GM cars with BIG engines, now them were the days
