Dan Blocker...Hoss
Saw this story today on Guns America Digest....great background on the big man.
https://www.gunsamerica.com/digest/b...oss-of-a-hero/ Dan Blocker was a great fan of high-performance automobiles. He maintained a 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Z-16 as well as a 1965 Huffaker Genie Mk 10 racer he christened the Vinegaroon. The Vinegaroon raced for Chevrolet in 1965 and 1966 as part of the US Road Racing Championship series as well as the 1966 Can-Am championship. |

Here’s an 08/67 Schuman Chevrolet Novato CA ad for a Bill Thomas 427 Tri-Pwr. 4-Spd. Red ‘66 ‘Velle that other than gearing, sounds a lot like the car above but 3x years earlier?:hmmm: Love to hear more of any known 66/67 Bill Thomas ‘Velles…or any BT cars!:headbang: :beers: ~ Pete . |
Very nice and historic finds, thanks for posting.

Very, very cool stuff. Hard to remember they were “just cars” at one point.

Here comes some Cheetah stuff, another amazing chapter of the Bill Thomas story! A few twists but Newspaper articles to follow are pretty much chronological from 10/63 Cheetah racing debut on to Sale ads of later years w/ a mixture of original cars and others. On w/ the show and anyone please feel free to speak up w/ questions and/or add more info. :beers: . |

Before we get too far along, here’s a few earlier Bill Thomas ads…some w/ no name but it’s his Ph.#. Very cool cars in the ads but very interesting is the Friendly Chevrolet Rialto ad from March of ‘63 who were involved w/ BT’s first Cheetahs but was ‘Thom Scat’ an early Cheetah name or another racer they were building?:hmmm: More to come! :beers: ~ Pete . |
