Are you Northerners ready for winter ?
Fall makes me want to move to a condo...:hmmm:
Most of the leaves came down over the last week, so vacuum/mulched them up, cut the grass down short. String trimmed around the trees and shrubs. Put 18 reflectors along the driveways for plowing, emptied 6 LARGE pots we plant annuals in every spring and put them in the yard shed. Moved all the patio furniture to the "car barn" and took the batteries out the cars stored there. Got them in the shop and hooked up to the maintainer. Cleaned the leaves out of the gutters. Pounded 22 6' posts in around the 8 shrubs in the front yard that the deer chew down every winter. Done with that. We'll put up 200' of snow fence around them in the next few weeks. People ask me what I do with my days, being retired. I tell them I get re-tired every day... |

Got the outside water shut off. Spent all day Saturday doing leaves and it's breezy today so you can't even tell I was out there. Thank you for the reminder about batteries. I have added that to my list. K |

Hell yeah......bring it on! Hung the blower and the bucket on the tractor last week, in addition to going servicing the plow (even plowed once already last week). Besides, I've got plenty of work to hold me over this winter.

Florida dreaming. Bought a 6X10 trailer to take the Harley with this year. Testing where to place the trolley and install D rings.

Working on it here...
What you said Mitch, plus, lots more. Highlights, new Battery for the Yamaha Grizzly (pushing light snow), mower deck off the Deere and loader on.(pushing heavy snow). Full service on these. On going watering trees, then reeling up 300 yards of garden hose. Trimming a couple dozen shrubs. Cleaning all the exterior windows. And the most important, MCACN entry is loaded and ready! And the roughest job of all, running all the cars on a loop around town. :3gears: I'm good with winter. Like Tim I get more done in winter without the distractions. - Bill W |

How do you like the snowblower on the rear? Considered it for a while on the front of my bota. |

I have plenty to keep me busy on the Camaro over winter too, I just seem to hate the cold more every year. I have a Boss plow on the Silverado for the 450 ft of driveway. The self load/unload is SOOO nice. I had Westerns on previous trucks and what a PITA to line up and get pins in when it's -25 degrees outside. My new car barn in the backyard has concrete floor and when I off load it, it's on casters so I can roll it out of the way. Much better than the previous place, where it was stored outside.

I’m going to Florida! The only thing better than having a house in Florida is having a sister with a house in Florida!

This warmish weather we've been having has been great.
I can tolerate the winter until about mid February and then I get cranky. |
Three weeks ago, I covered the cars and Harley, winterized the house and shop, jumped in the Explorer van and headed down here to our 34 acre place in Florida. I hope to never see another snow-flake as long as I live. Weather down here has been great. Having some cattle delivered today. Got all the brush-hogging and mowing done. Going to be another great Winter down here!

You in the northern half of the peninsula ? |
----As of yesterday all the cars and boats are put safely away. Still need to winterize 2 of the boats, but they are in a heated building and will be done by this weekend. Now time to rake and burn, which I truly hate. I'd almost rather have a root canal!.....Bill S

I hate racking and burning too. Bought a vacuum/shredder 10 years ago. We have acreage and dump the shredded leaves out back for compost. I have the Premier 240 size, works great.

We have a VRBO rental in Homosassa for 3 weeks in Feb. I plan on going to The Garlits Museum one day during that time. Been 15 years, or so, since I was there last. |

Got my stuff done last weekend…just in time for the first snow/ice tomorrow. Washed the 93 HD, added fresh fuel and stabilizer, then put on the new breathable cover. Put fresh fuel in the 993 and washed it, then up on the lift for the winter…or so I thought. Had a member from another forum reach out and ask if I would consider selling. We reached an agreement and the car will be heading to Germany in a few weeks. That was probably my last 993 as I would like a newer 911 daily and maybe another old Corvette as my collector car. I enjoy the hunt more than the purchase to be honest, so I’ll take my time.
We decided to hire someone to clear the snow this year. At 61, it’s just something that I don’t care to do on my own now that our son has moved out and can’t help. Seems reasonable at $1200 ($850 US) for the season. Sorry for the sideways pics, but even if I rotate them on my iPad, they show up sideways here. This drives me nuts as it doesn’t happen on any other website I post on! |

Thanks Dave! How did you get them to stay rotated? When I do that, they just rotate back when I post them.

Must be the functionality with some computers or tablets? I’ve also posted “right side up” pics and they have loaded sideways. Haven’t quite figured it out?:hmmm: Sweet 993 btw. |
Thanks Dave. That is exactly what I did, but it keeps rotating them on me.
I really like this 993 too, but I've had it for 2.5 years and it's time for a change. When I got into 993's in 2007, they were just 10 year old sports cars. Now they have become collector cars and with them being 25 plus years old, I don't feel as comfortable using them as a summer driver. I still love them though! |
