Nickey Nova question..
New member here..this is a great site! Very interesting supercar information here and folks willing to share. I am glad for this
site. Question: How does one verify a 1969 Nova sporting a Nickey badge and dash plaque? Where can I find more info on Nickey cars in general? Tia. |
Re: Nickey Nova question..
I personally don't know, but interested in knowing the answer. Is there anyone out there willing to share such information? I'm sure any info would be appreciated!

Re: Nickey Nova question..
morning Tia
The only way to verify a Nickey is with some original paper work, and or some verification from the original owner I just ran in to the same problem last weekend at Atlantic city show. Nickeys were transplanted motors and there is no master list of vin # of nickeys made Check out this site to see a real Nickey http://www.corvettes-musclecars.com/...yZ28/index.htm (just copy and paste) Norm |
Re: Nickey Nova question..
Remember, Nickey also sold many more regular muscle cars than their conversion "Super Cars".

Re: Nickey Nova question..
Joel,
Post the picture of your data plate and maybe some of the other members might be able to help. A NICB report showing that the car was sold new from Nickey Chevrolet would be a start. |
Re: Nickey Nova question..
I know we have gone through this before but how do you get the NICB report?
Thanks, Jason |
Re: Nickey Nova question..
Reading through some old post, what is a nicb report and how do you go about obtaining one
Thanks |
Re: Nickey Nova question..
You need connections to get the NICB report on a car. Is there anyone around here that can get these reports easily without getting themself in trouble?

Re: Nickey Nova question..
What is a NICB report!! what does NICB stand for!!
|
Re: Nickey Nova question..
Some people claim that NICB records will show the original receiving dealership who sold the car.
from NICB web site The National Insurance Crime Bureau is a not-for-profit organization that receives support from approximately 1,000 property/casualty insurance companies. The NICB partners with insurers and law enforcement agencies to facilitate the identification, detection and prosecution of insurance criminals. http://www.nicb.org/about/about.html |
Re: Nickey Nova question..
An NICB report will show the original selling dealer and the shipping date. Helpful if you suspect you might have a Baldwin Motion car as it could confirm if the car was sold at Baldwin Chevrolet. Some of the reports do have errors as the records for my Yenko Camaro said it was delivered to a boat dealer in Alabama, where a title search later revealed it was actually sold through Colonial Chevrolet in VA.
Unless you now a friendly law enforcement officer you can't gain access to the information. |
Re: Nickey Nova question..
FourCee Investigations ran a report on a 1967 427 Corvette that I own. I had the history of the vehicle for all but the first owner. They generated the zone and dealer number, shipping date and delevering dealer. I gave them no information but the ID number of the car. I knew it came from Georgia. Their information confirmed this and gave me the zone and dealer. The fee was $100, but it was worth it to confirm some missing information.
I responded to an add in Hemmings for their services. A two year old letter shows a web address of [email protected]. I have no connection to them, just used their services. |

Re: Nickey Nova question..
FourCee Investigations is not performing searches any longer. Does anyone know of another firm that may provide this service?

Re: Nickey Nova question..
It has taken a few weeks, but I am currently
waiting on a search of the VIN. Hopefully, it will tell what dealer sold the car originally. |
