Re: 69 COPO silver with red interior on E-bay
wrong radiator, replacement shroud, doesn't appear to have a big block heater core and the Guy somehow must have the Records that show that there were only 18 silver COPO's made. If I had to guess I would almost bet the car also has the ultra rare 10 bolt non posi COPO rear end.

Re: 69 COPO silver with red interior on E-bay
Looks like a Super Rare Trim Tag delete also.
|
Re: 69 COPO silver with red interior on E-bay
Yeah, those trim tags deletes were very rare...LOL

Re: 69 COPO silver with red interior on E-bay
I sure hope he isn't serious trying to pawn this car off as a real COPO. I guess there's a slim chance it could be, only it had all the COPO items removed. Oh, and Charley, I think it has the ultra rare COPO 10 bolt non posi JL8 4 wheel disc rear as you can see from the pictures!

Re: 69 COPO silver with red interior on E-bay
It must be the priceless, original '69 COPO prototype, cause the VIN puts the build date at early Oct. '68.

Re: 69 COPO silver with red interior on E-bay
It starts at 50,000 if it wasn't so far away i'd own that sucker

Re: 69 COPO silver with red interior on E-bay
Cortez Silver is light gray. That looks like an oval port Edelbrock Torker/Tarantula intake as well.

Re: 69 COPO silver with red interior on E-bay
I e-mailed this guy. No documentation or history. He said the 512 block and vin# qualify it as a COPO. He also said he is no expert on these cars and to "be patient" as he is "trying" to document it. I told him to do this BEFORE he lists it.It would probably prevent legal troubles. I directed him to Ed's site. Who knows, maybe it is real.

Re: 69 COPO silver with red interior on E-bay
How could this car possibly be real?? The VIN posted corresponds to an October '68 build date which is long before the COPOs were available. Also, notice the 10-bolt rear and a cowl hood which also was not available when this car was built. Looks like an expensive mistake for a potential buyer.

Re: 69 COPO silver with red interior on E-bay
Like above the onwer has said that it has a 512 block and the engine code is VI008MN could they also have gotten the VIN wrong also and maybe its 616659 instead of 516659 making it one off the Douglass car with a VIN of 616658??? either way if it does in fact have a MN coded engine whos car does it belong in? He has also stated that the rear end is not orginal to the car but we already knoew that if it were a COPO

Re: 69 COPO silver with red interior on E-bay
Did he say if there is a vin number stamped on the block? If so in which location deck or near oil filter?
|
Re: 69 COPO silver with red interior on E-bay
He never said but I did ask him to check for one along with any other numbers he can find on the car. Like his ad on e-bay indicates he also said that he didnt know to much about Camaro's. Even asked for better pics of the engine to include any of the numbers he finds, well see what happens

Re: 69 COPO silver with red interior on E-bay
Jeff,
The "V" should make it a Flint Michigan Built engine? I thought all COPO L72 engines were built at the "T" Tonawanda, New York Plant? Maybe it is one of the GM engineering mules that Jim Mattison was caught having fun with on Woodward Ave? |
Re: 69 COPO silver with red interior on E-bay

Re: 69 COPO silver with red interior on E-bay
The guy that bid must be a dealer. Look at his feedback and you can see what he's been buying.
The seller should have taken the bid! |
