HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Crook from Calgary is back on eBay trying again to pass off a 327 basket case as a 67 Z28:
eBay auction Remember the Yenko Series II guy? |
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Shame he can't afford some white paint for the walls of that building and some overhead lights. It's so dark I can't tell much about the car but the rest of the cars in there with it sure look intersting???? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
|
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
denis, have you verified this from his address? Looks like, maybe a yenko clown car in the background? Roger
|
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
I noticed that "yenklown" https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif in the background. Not really sure if it's a set of Yenko stripes, or if it's just a reflection from sunlight.
|
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Supersize the photo. Definitely Yenko stripes. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif
One question... why claim its a Z-28 then offer no pictures or trim tag info? Maybe because... IT ISN'T? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif |
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
You're right, with the photo supersized they're definitely stripes.
|
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
I'm pretty sure that Z28 has been listed before on Ebay. Not a whole lot of proof of anything listed in the auction.
|
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Here's the tag info from the last time he tried to pass off this car as a Z28.
10D X083 67-12637 LOS 4264 732-Z D-2 EX 2LG 3BSDL 4L 5BY Just incase anyone is interested in buying it, there were no 4L coded Z28's built in October of 66, There were no Z28's at all built until December of 66 and these are coded 4P. Forget the fact that this is a LOS built "early Z28". So rare as to be one of none. See the other thread about the last time this car came up. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/show...o=&fpart=1 |
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
And a well optioned Z-28 that would be. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif
Maybe its a prototype. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif |
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
maybe its super late z28, oct 67' what's the vin start with??

Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
ask the guy to pull his cowl, and take a pic, see if its all white, los. sprayed it white when the stripes went on, early L30/M20?
|
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
This was the tag, as recorded about 3 months before it came up on ebay the first time this guy tried to sell it.
10D X083 67-12637 LOS 4264 732-Z D-2 EX 2FG 3BSDL 4F 5BY There are no October of 67 Z28's. They would be 68 Z28's at that point. This POS is an LF7/M35 car with a repro tag. The guy can post an image of the tag if, he's so sure it's real, along with a picture of the firewall, and transmission hump area. Supersize the drivers door side, you'll see the extra hole in the door for the remote control mirror (code 4F). |

[/ QUOTE ]A nantucket blue and black vinyl topped car should have black stripes. However I believe the cowl should be black underneath the panel. (Is that correct Denis and Mark?) |
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
The original tag was this:
10D X083 67-12637 LOS 4264 732-Z D-2 EX 2MG 3BSDL 4F 5BY I had put an F in group 2 instead of an M. As to what color stripe it had, or what color the cowl is going to be it dosen't really matter. The car never had stripes and probably doesn't have any signs of them now. But for the record a Nantucket Blue car with a black vinyl top would have had black stripes. |
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Right Jeff. We have seen this one before. Was the subject of a thread at one time. Fake-a-roo! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif
|
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
He's a crook plain and simple and he's got the law suits to prove it.
|
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
I e-mailed the seller of this 67 Camaro, and asked him to send me a picture of the cowltag. I was curious and wanted to see it for myself. Of course he didn't send me a picture, but here is the info he sent me.

Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Tony, so did I. I got the same response... no picture.

Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
I as him for pics of the cowl tags the first time around, I'm still waiting https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif He is a crook!

Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Oh this is precious....
I responded to his email "Photographic proof would be appreciated." His reply? [ QUOTE ] the car is in storage 1 hour drive from here sorry if you dont believe that it is real but i think the car will be sold by tommorow anyway [/ QUOTE ] https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif |
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Can somebody from this site who lives near there bid and win and then sue the piss out of him for fraud? Whats the law up there?
Sam |
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Why would it matter 1) if the person who bought need to live near him (if you send the deposit money order via US Mail it becomes a Federal offense) and 2) I am seriously considering purchasing this car just for that reason. Think I could win enough in court to buy a real one? 3)Does it matter that he is in Canada? Do our laws still have jurisdiction. The car would be a decent buy even just for the options........wouldn't it?
|
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
I wanna see just how long it will take for you to get your Money back from a Crook in Canada that knows he is gonna steal your money and knows it he is gonna make it very hard for you to get it back....The guy is probably better at stealing your money than you are at chasing crooks down. His job is ripping you off, why help him..
|
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Yes it matters that he is in Canada. US law can't touch him there.
And even if he was in the USA, Then the other problem is what if that is all he owns and then how do you collect any money out of someone that doesn't have anything of real value? His home is exempt from attachment so if he is broke then just what do you get? Do you think you would be satisified with $50 out of his paycheck every week for the next 20 years. Face it, He could go to Alantic City and blow the money you paid for the car and then you couldn't get anything. Most of these frauds fall into that catagory of deadbeats (That is why they are stupid enought to try to get away with it in the first place because they have nothing to loose and your money to gain) https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
ANYBODY EVER GET A PHONE # FROM HIM?

Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
I just saved somebody from a big mistake. I got a call from a Southern California Camaro collector who was all set to buy this car for $14K tomorrow morning. He decided to check with me first. Good idea on his part.

Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Way to go Jon! $14,000 for this 67? Crazy, crazy, crazy!
Did the California collector really think it was a "real" Z? |
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
I thought you were going to say you switched to Geico Insurance.
Really thats great Jon, Long times since I have seen you online |
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Yeah, he was under the impression it was real. I think he was partly mesmerized by the amount of options and also might not have known when production started on the Z's. Needless to say, I straightened him out. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
It's a shame eBay wont police itself better. At least they should remove the bidders ID protection from auctions, so people can warn those poor unsuspecting souls from the torment they will face from sellers like this. Sincerely Brian
|
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Yes, but you really can't police eBay (or Barrett-Jackson or any other used car dealer), at least not 100%. Someone's going to get taken no matter what. Besides, eBay tells you in their fine print that any problems should be worked out between the seller and buyer so it's up to those of us on eBay, or anywhere else, to police things ourselves. That guy will sell that '67 as a Z/28 to someone even if he can't do it on eBay. You can't save everyone and you can't catch all the crooks. Education, vigilance, and communication are the best weapons against frauds such as this.

Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Way to go Jon https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif I think that collector was calling around in a panic yesterday. I had a call from the guy that bought my L78 asking if a 7L113XXX VIN could be a '67 Z. He was calling "for a friend in CA that he had purchased a car from in the past". Glad you set him straight!

Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Mark,
I was just trying to do the right thing and keep a guy from getting screwed by a scam artist. Nobody but the guy putting on the scam likes to see this stuff go on. -Jon 1967 Z28 street car 1967 Z28 Trans-Am race car 1967 Z28 Registry |
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
This won't be the last time you here this from me.
"E-bay is bad for our hobby" Like most things it probably started with good intentions, but now does more harm than good. Want to do something meaningful for the collector hobby? Buy and sell the old fashioned way and do it fairly and honestly. Everyone will be better off for it. Tom Williams https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif |
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
No difference between Ebay and something like Hemmings. People will try and scam you any where any time. There's just too many dishonest people out there so you need to take things slowly or you'll get burned.
|
Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
I have had a lot of good deals that I purchased on e bay! and have not been burned yet. There is no way I would purchase a CAR for any amount of money without seeing it myself or having a represenative see it for me before a purchase is made.I think ebay has made some mistakes and also have corrected some.I think there are a lot of scammers out there looking to screw someone and all of them are not on e bay! Ebay is just an easy source to promote something for sale and get a lot of people looking at items that are for sale.Ebay is a good source of advertisement for many.I have not sold anything on e bay only purchased so far,and everyone I have dealt with has been as honest as the day is long.I have also wanted to purchase items but after reviewing feedback on some sellers I thought it in my best interest to stay away from certain sellers!!I have purchased 2 vehicles off e bay and when I inspected both were as described nothing less,if anything they were more than described. It is easy for any scammer to rip someone off over the internet not just using e bay.I am sure many on this site have made purchases off e bay without problems and many have sold items also.It is not e bay but the dishonest people that scam and rip people off that is bad for the hobby! You can run into a scam anywhere at anytime the internet has just made it a little more easier to do so.

Re: HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
I just wonder what that trim tag really looks like? Would he bother to repop a tag or just say "too bad" to an unsuspecting buyer when the call to ask where the "L" is? Hopefully, no one gets hurt on this deal.
