Re: Ebay 69 Corvette Motion?

I you read the advertizing on Joel's cars closely you will see he originally planned for the cars with SB's to come std with air and the BB as a option for factory Air.

I see little that makes me thing this is a real, Motion car. They usually took everything off like the emblems and the paint should go down the center of the car to the hood.

I would think it is just another owner installed Motion parts on a stock '69 Vette. The price is about right if someone doesn't buy into the name game and get crazy bidding for this car in hopes that it will turnout to be a "Real Deal."
One thing we can be sure of is that it is not a "SS427 GT" with the fastback window.

Of course I could be wrong??? I think I was one time before??? Naw... (eyes rolling back in head and a big smile on face)

Re: Ebay 69 Corvette Motion?

I was the winning bidder on this car! Really wasn't concerned with its true identity just liked its looks. Ran into a problem though. The owner turned out to be a complete liar and jerk. That's the problem with ebay. Unscrupulous people seem to always find their way to the sight. This jerk refused my calls and emails and threatened me with police activity if I didn't stop calling him. Go figure! All I wanted to do was send him the money for the car that I won at auction. I highly recommend for anyone to avoid business with this clown. He gives new meaning to the old adage "CAVEAT EMPTOR". I hope nobody has to go through what I have gone through. Guys like this give the collector car hobby a bad name.

He should have set his reserve higher if he didn't want to sell it at that price.

does the tank sticker really have the Baldwin Chevy zone code as stated in ebay ad?

tony ro 10-03-2004 05:02 PM

Re: Ebay 69 Corvette Motion?

He states that it has the tank sticker. Like I said this guy is a liar and jerk. Who knows what to believe. As far as I am concerned, the car should be inn my garage bu now. Any suggestions on how to make this sale stand up. Am I at the mercy of a small and petty businessman. I guess all my ranting has not done anything because this jerk still won't respond to me. I guess you can't hurt a mans pride if he doesn't have any. JOESVETT should be remembered by all as someone who does not live up to agreements.

Figuring the "Motion" reference would bring a lot more $$$.
Sorry to here your not getting it, but better than losing the $8500.00!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/ooo.gif

Re: Ebay 69 Corvette Motion?

If you are really intent on getting the car, you can find whatever type of "Small Claims" equiv that they have where he lives. Usually, for a small fee, you can file a lawsuit (Here, it is $85 for a 3500 max claim, or $350 for a 10,000 claim). The best part is that you do not need a lawyer, although you can use one if you wish. Here in Louisiana, a Judge hears the claim, in a regular non lawyer discussion, he (the "judge") then does some legal research and renders a legal decision.
Sometimes just the threat or even getting "served" is enough to make a person "make it right".

Caution though, you can be "counter sued" so make sure that your nose is clean!

Hope it works out for you,

Rich

Re: Ebay 69 Corvette Motion?

Thanks for the concern by all. I have already filed with square trade. I don't know what this guy could counter with against me. All I did was email and call him multiple times. I guess I will look into small claims. I appreciate any and all help in this matter.

Re: Ebay 69 Corvette Motion?

Get a hold of eBay support and let them know the details!
I doubt they will do anything as they are notorious for
their lack of follow-up when actual problems occur. But,
if you really want the car and the auction ended fairly,
force the idiot to sell you the car. That is how you win
these things and get these sellers to go away.

Hey,
I just wanted to fill everyone in on my progress or lack there of with Joe T*****. Apparently he agreed with square trade to discuss this matter with me and then as usual he changed his mind. This guy is a real piece of work. he still won't take my calls. I will call him daily until he gets a sack and picks up the phone. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please be careful. Joe T***** in Lake Carmel, NY is a very untrusty person. The problem is that I know where the car is and have every intention of seeing this deal through.
Thanks

Though what has happend would be looked upon as being blately wrong, The use of his last name here wont be allowed. If anyone would like to know more about what and who the seller was please contact tony ro via Email. Thanks

Re: Ebay 69 Corvette Motion?

I would just let it go. you cant make somebody sell you their car, even i know you won it at auction. I dont think theres a court in the land that would make him sell it to you. JMO but i would move on. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

budnate 10-08-2004 05:15 AM

Re: Ebay 69 Corvette Motion?

Hey Don not true..he has a binding contract to buy the car at the selling price..and how it was stated in the add not destroyed or anything...the hassle is the buyer needs to be present in court or have a Attorney present at court where the lawsuit is filed...the kicker is even in small claims I am told if the guy cannot or will not produce the item being sued over..the winner gets restitution on the actual value of said item even if it is 10 times what the original selling price is...at least thats how it was exsplained to me how it works in the Sate of Wa.

a person must weigh how much hassle it it worth????.

Re: Ebay 69 Corvette Motion?

Just my opinion, but I think this is a disagreement between to people that should be kept that way. I don't think it should be aired on this or any other public forum. This site or the other site that this has been discussed on had nothing to do with the auction.
James

James, well said! They can air there dirty laundry in court. Anyone needs the dirt on the deal, they can email the seller or buyer. All in favor of closing this train wreck, say I. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif Roger

Re: Ebay 69 Corvette Motion?

So the auction has ended, he has stiffed you, he won't answer any phone calls yet he still has good feedback on Ebay. When are you going to leave negative feedback ?

tony ro 10-09-2004 07:34 AM

Re: Ebay 69 Corvette Motion?

I agree! This is getting overplayed. I only discussed on these forums because this is where I saw response to the initial eBay auction. Yeah, I feel like this guy screwed me but its not as easy as "leave negative feedback." This is useless because he in turn would then leave a negative response to me. If anyone wants further info or has any other suggestions feel free to PM me. Otherwise, let's put this to rest for the sake of everyone involved. It's apparent my ranting and raving have not done any good and I'm sure people are tired of listening. However, I will purue this doggedly until I am satisfied with the outcome. Thanks all for your help in this matter.

SuperNovaSS 10-09-2004 07:59 AM

Re: Ebay 69 Corvette Motion?

I personally was enjoying it. At least let us know what the eventual outcome is. If you know where the car is and this is a legal contract through EBay isn't there a way to pay the police and get the car? Maybe do a lien sale on the car?

Good luck with this,

Jason

Re: Ebay 69 Corvette Motion?

Unless you have alot of time and energy on your hands, i would drop it and find some other worth while project to bide your time with. Who needs the excess drama???

tony ro 10-09-2004 11:58 PM

Re: Ebay 69 Corvette Motion?

It's really not about the time, energy, or the actual car. It's all about principles and morals. This guy doesn't have any and I intend to demonstrate that to everyone and anyone who wants to listen. Yeah, I should probably move on to the next car but that would be a defeatist attitude and I just can't bring myself to let this guy off the hook so easily.
