Re: Crossram JL8 Z on eBay
I dig the power windows..odd with all that was ordered it does not have the deluxe int as well???

Re: Crossram JL8 Z on eBay
Something isn't right. The trim tag looks like 09C and they discontinued the JL8 option in July I believe. The chambered exhaust was discontinued in May so it can't be original either. Be very careful and do your homework if interested in this car.

Re: Crossram JL8 Z on eBay
The pic with the wheel off shows the brake hose setup for a power front disc car and not a JL8 car. On a JL8 car the brake hose would attach to a bracket bolted to the side of the frame in those two holes you can see directly behind the hose.

Re: Crossram JL8 Z on eBay
Charlie, could it be that the car was restored and that bracket left off or accidentally forgotten? Just curious.

Re: Crossram JL8 Z on eBay
The bracket that they did use you can see on the top of the frame. That bracket is for a power front disc brake car. That bracket should not be there on a JL8 car.

Re: Crossram JL8 Z on eBay
"Unique combination of options on a 53,100 mile prestine example of an original 1969 Z-28 rally sport."
Looks like tricky wording on a put together car to me. But a car car nonetheless. |
Re: Crossram JL8 Z on eBay
It's a really nicely done car, but there is definitely conflicting options and time frames and with a P-O-P to match makes me think it was a built car with made up documentation. It's really hard to understand his description though. It says JL8 service package rear and then he says all numbers match the trim tag and P-O-P. So is it a non JL8 rear that matches the P-O-P and then had the discs added? Or is it a complete service package rear which wouldn't match the P-O-P? Nice combination of parts though.

Re: Crossram JL8 Z on eBay
If I were selling a real JL8 car with a protecto plate, I would have a closeup of the protecto plate with the rear end code. I would also tighten the nuts on the tie rod adjusting sleeve before taking a pic.

Re: Crossram JL8 Z on eBay
I don't know anyhting about JL8 cars, but wouldn't the fact he states its a "service package" basically be saying it was installed at a later date, rather than as a factory ordered option? These setups WERE available over the counter, correct? Seems to be he isn't claiming its a factory installation.

Re: Crossram JL8 Z on eBay
I agree. This car is obviously not an original JL8 car. It is a matching number car that has had the 4-wheel disc brakes added at a later date. Since the rear axle matches the protect-o-plate, you can not really even call it a "service package" since that axle came as a package rear end and had larger bearings, different axle tube ends, etc. He is being vague most likely in the hope that someone will step up with big money.

No, 89999.00. The high bidder has had 7 bid retractions in the last 6 months and one negative feedback out of eight. High bidder also is keeping his feedback private.

Re: Crossram "JL8" Z on eBay
Yet.. more Ebay BS!!!!!
Said it before and I'll say it again..... Ebay is nothing but a bad joke! Attend any swap meet/car show within your reach. You just might be surprised with the results. At least you can see, feel, smell and touch the car or part in question. |
Re: Crossram "JL8" Z on eBay
I think that's the same bidder that bid the Yenko Deuce up to $109K before cancelling his bid.
