Here is a link to a seized 1999 48' Hallmark that bids are being accepted on. This company usually runs 1/3 current market value.

Try looking at H&H trailer They haves some very serious standard features and the construction seems to be top notch.

dreemz:

I have a beautiful Featherlite car hauler with living quarters, this trailer is fully equipped. Cost new is over $79,000. I am looking to sell it for $32,000. It is a factory 25th anniversary model from Featherlite, and I have over 6 pages of factory specs for this trailer. She needs a good home. Warren

Re: ENCLOSED CAR TRAILER

I am in the market right now too.I had an older Haulmark 21'enclosed trailer, and it was well built.I sold my old duallie and bought a smaller truck a few years back and sold that trailer but now I have a bigger truck, and am looking to up size again. All of the common brand names are good, haulmark, wells cargo and such.I was looking for a "New " trailer because I was going to finance, and figured I couldnt finance a used one.I have since changed my mind.I was looking for a 24' tagalong new and planning on spending about 6 grand and financing with the dealerand still having some cash left for some extras, but I already own a new generator,a workbench setup and tool cabinets,so the upgrades would have been minimal.I was looking on Ebay and Racingjunk.com and now realize that for about that much of a little more in cash,I can buy twice as much trailer if I go with something between 1 and 5 years old.Racers are a funny bunch, and the keeping ups with the Jone's mentality has them selling perfectly good old stuff at fire sale prices just to buy rediculously expensive new stuff. For under 10 grand on racingjunk.com,I found a handfull of already set up gooseneck trailers, with 30 foot decks, generators, benches, lights, awnings, winches and cabinets already installed, and the trailers looked nice, and I wasnt looking at anything more then 7 years old.I found a 4 year old gooseneck with a 24 foot deck, generator, good lighting, cabinets,a winch and some of those fancy trailer storage system setups, and it was clean looking to,and the guy wanted $7900 for it.It wasnt a 48' live aboard, but a portapotty, water jugs and a mini fridge would have made it workable for a weekend at the races by myself. On Ebay,a similar trailer had met the reserve price at $5500.A stripped down 24' tag cost about that much new.
An enclosed trailer can be a good investment, and was pretty much my race car's"private garage" when I had my last enclosed. You can get a lot of use out of a trailer even without having a rolling warehouse. Some money spent on upsizing is a good thing.Dont get a trailer that your car just fits into unless you have a problem with storing the trailer. The extra space is nice for working on your car in the trailer as well as for camping out in it when a shower passes at the races or car show. The extra few buch spent going from a 21 to a 24 footer is well spent.Over 30 foot isnt really needed unless you plan to sleep in it on a regualr basis. For racing,a good upgrade is an awning.Racers have to wear a lot of gear, and some race cars dont have roll down windows,so having the car and the driver in the shade is a help during the summer months, and the awning look is very cool in the pits.A generator is good for racing, but for a show car it might not be needed unless you want to live out of the trailer.Real trailer storage systems are a must.Cheap Home store cabinets dont work, and nothing tells you how bad your day of racing is going to be as openoing your trailer door at 10am to find out that a can on carb cleaner fell out of the cabinet and impaled itself on part of your floor jack, and the resulting mess turned 2 brand new racing slicks into mush.Good cabinets are a must.So is good 110/12V lighting, loading the car in the evening is impossible without it.A winch makes getting the car in and out a bunch easier since you cant really get out of a car in a 8.5' wide trailer once it is loaded up.Good luck with your purchase and post a picture when you close the deal.

Thanks for all the advice. My time was limited as I'm showing one of my cars in Las Vegas (mopars at the strip) April 1st-3rd so a friend is going to let me use his 24' unit. In the meantime I will continue to look for used vs. building new. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: ENCLOSED CAR TRAILER

Charley-
Car is 1970 Challenger Go Mango (Vitamin C orange) 440-6 pk car with factory shaker hood and very rare factory Gator grain vinyl top (really does look like alligator skin). Also is true Super Trac Pac 4-spd 4:10 Dana car with engine/trans/rear end that it left the factory with. Also factory rear wing car, rallye dash, 8-track, console etc. Totally restored by Bruce Hershberger (a member on this site). Extensive use of NOS parts. Fascinating history. Ward Gappa (takes care of some of Dave C.'s cars) is doing some final prep on the car. Never shown before...
