Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
Mike, Don't buy a smog system, I've got one here that I likely won't need. Maybe we can trade for some "space" in the future https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif
Good talking to you yesterday https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |

Yeah, it's missing a few pieces, but there are alot that are there. Most of the problem is that is was an original smog car, so the carb, air cleaner and smog system is gone.
I was told that the orig engine resides in Oak Harbor, WA machine shop and the owner isnt cooperating in reuniting it with the car. |
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
Thats about what my list looked like but I have found most of the parts. They are out there. The distributor and carb will be the most difficult. I will keep an eye out.

Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
Called Dated Components... they advertise in Hemmings all day long.
|
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
Man, this is harder than I thought.
I guess dated components doesnt answer his email https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif Things are going pretty slow. I did pick up a 5822 crank so I have a revised list: 1107496 Starter Dated Jan - May 1967 3849346 Camshaft 1111266 Distributor Dated Jan – May 1967 3817173 Crankshaft Balancer with timing mark that lines up with keyway 3889316 Chrome Oil filler tube with PCV fitting 3916415 Carburetor Holley List 3911 for Smog engine 3871276 Fan – 5 Blade Fan with 4 rivets 3.25” bolt pattern 3927103 Fan Clutch 1.75” bolt pattern 1967 Camaro RS Grille Emblem NOS 1967 Camaro RS Headlight Bezels #3898149/150 NOS 1967 z/28 front and rear alternator brackets 1967 DF wheels 1967 Chrome script valve covers 5696104 A.I.R. pump 6484413 Air Cleaner assy for smog 1967 302 Oil Pan 360009 302 Rods 302 pistons PM or email me with what you have and a price |

Cool car, ill also hunt around and see what I can find..

Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
Jonesy I have the valve covers if you're interested. They're in decent shape, but might need rechroming.
|
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
Jeff
I am looking for a mint pair. I have 2 sets and both should be rechromed. That may be the route I take. Thanks for your offer. Mike |
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
I figured as much. I dug mine out today to look at them. One is pretty banged up. They'd be fine on a "driver" but not on what you're trying to accomplish.
You might keep an eye on ebay. I saw a mint pair there several months ago. They were more than I was willing to pay for what I needed them for, but on a ground up restoration they'd have been perfect. |
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
I think I have an early 67 DF (Large DF, no date on front)wheel kicking around
|
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
The current production 3817173 Crankshaft Balancers are pretty decent, and the timing mark is about a degree or so off the keyway. GM parts direct has them for $75 and Rick's has them for $99. Of course jefyrock wants $150...

Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
After hearing values from 175.00-600.00 I figured Ebay was the best place to find out. I have listed it with what I think is a very fair reserve of 325.00. Ebay ad

Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
I have a few of those fans. Also have a bunch of the clutches.
I will sell 1 or 2. But lets see what Charlie gets for his. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif |
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
Thanks a bunch for diluting the percieved hard to find part I had listed. I will try to remember and do the same for you some time.
|
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
Sorry Charlie. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
They are impossible to find. I've had these for 22 years. And I have saved them this long, so I will just keep them another few years - NOT FOR SALE. I am still working on the 50 or so sets of seatbelts i still have left. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif I do have a few of those balancers, and many clutches. |
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
Come on guys - its not like we are trying to buy these to resell them - they are going to good homes for good supercar purpose - !!
|
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
If anyone is willing to sell me one without putting it on ebay, let me know what you want for it.
|
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
Ed...I had multiple people inquiring about mine. I have not been tracking the sale prices. Jonesy was first to inquire and I would have sold it to him if I would have gotten a clear answer from him on market value. From what I have gathered, market is 400.00-600.00. I'm guessing Jonesy knows that also but I never heard that range from him. The easiest solution was to put it on Ebay and find out for sure what market value is. If I sell it to you for 10.00 and you put it on your car are you never going to sell the car ?
|
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
Charley, I watch the '67 Z stuff closer than most and haven't seen a fan blade for sale in years, so I don't think many "know" the market for them as they don't sell in enough quantity to have generated a "market" price. Jonesy emailed me and asked me what I thought it was worth and I told him the I had no idea as one hasn't sold publicly in years. So, I can tell you that he didn't have any clue as to what it was worth. It's the same situation as my 266 distributor, the last one I saw sell publicly was 5 or 6 years ago when they were about $1,000. So what is one worth today? My guess would have been $3K...but, I had two unsolicted offers on mine for $5K in the last 2 weeks and it is not even for sale. Knowing Jonesy as I do, he is not afraid to pay what he has to for a part, but it is nearly impossible to put a price on anything today that is in the least bit rare. It's a shame you and he couldn't have worked it out as he was the one who prompted the discussion and has a good home for it on his '67 Z.
I will add that my guess as to why it is so hard to find one is that there is no part number on it, so people who have one have no idea what it is from...you figure with the number of cars sold with this fan there was/are probably 15,000 - 20,000 out there! |
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
Charlie, its the same for any part -, ball joints, weatherstripping etc - if your doing a rare car you pay a fair price for the part - no issue with that.
I had no impresssion that anyone would offer one for sale for 10.00. If i paid you 500 for the part - would you care if i sold my car or not? Anyhow - ebay is a source like you said - but we all know, this is not the market price when many people have more money than sense and will pay thousands for a part just to have it now, because they can afford it at any price. I'm happy to pay a fair price, not looking for any special consideration.... mark is correct - im sure there are quite a few out there, but they dont know it - especially when these are only a 1/4 inch difference on the spacing . . . pretty hard to tell with out a part number or taking it off the clutch. JMO.. |
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
I just sold one this week for 400.00
|
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
PlumL78...did that include the clutch also? Thanks, Mark
|
Re: 1967 z/28 PARTS WANTED
To say Ebay is not a place to find out market price is just silly. Yes there are blips where stupid money is paid but I can't think of any better place than Ebay to find out what stuff is selling for. Plum just sold one for 400.00 so my 325.00 reserve seems very fair to me.
