Collector Car Insurance?
What Insurance Company does everyone use to protect these valuable cars? Please elaborate on the experiences that you have had with these companies. Thanks,
Paul |

Re: Collector Car Insurance?
I've been with Hagerty for about three years and seem to be happy. Thankfully I haven't had to put in a claim.

Re: Collector Car Insurance?
I have used Haggerty for years and have been very pleased. I have had 3 claims and I could not believe how good they were to work with, allowing the repairs to be done as I requested. They offer a multi car discount and I would be happy to send my contacts info to you if you wish.

Re: Collector Car Insurance?
Lost a 67 Mustang convert GTA in Katrina. Was insured by Hagerty for 9,000.00 (never raised the limits, we had the car for 15 years. They came out quick and are giving the maximum. They are supposed to give me a buy back price next week. So far so good. They seem OK.
Will update you next week. Rich |
Re: Collector Car Insurance?
I am very happy with Grundy. Had a claim last year, and they were very understanding and easy to deal with.

Re: Collector Car Insurance?
I shopped all mentioned above and others again this year and dollar for dollar comparison American Collector car insurance had the best rate by about 20%. Special deals for USAA members too.
I wish MK would of been more competitive for me because I do appreciate the support given here for our hobby. Do give them a try and they were very nice on the phone. |
Re: Collector Car Insurance?
haggerty is very hard to beat. Latebreaku2 refered me to them and the savings and service are excellent. Their mileage restrictions are somewhat restrictive. Easy to get a quote via their website.

Re: Collector Car Insurance?
No problems with Haggerty so far but knock on wood,no claims either.Got their optional towing service as well.
$120K value for 3 cars is $700/year. |

That MK quote is certainly "more" than a few bucks...but how are they on claims? Anyone had any experience there? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif |
Re: Collector Car Insurance?
Somebody, please respond to my issues...........
1) I have a 69 Camaro that is with a friend in Springfield, IL.......remember I live in Seattle. Haggerty (and someone else ??) would NOT insure my Camaro being stored in friends garage along side Haggerty insured cars, because I didnt have a DRIVER car at the same location. They wanted to make sure that when I fly to Springfield I would not be using my Collector car for regular useage. I explained that my regular transportation, would be in my friends everyday drivers.........but to no avail. I would up using another company ........and after getting the insurance at my Wash address.....later called them and said I had moved the car to Springfield, and being stored at XYZ address........ 2) Ive been told by more than one homeowners insurance company, that ALL my misc auto parts would not be covered in the event of theft or fire, whatever. As they are CAR parts they need to be covered with auto insurance. As they are loose parts not making up a complete car, how do you get insurance coverage for valuble auto parts??? Chuck S/ Seattle |
Re: Collector Car Insurance?
It should be covered under homeowners as a rare parts and memorabilia collection, no different than collecting figurines..

Re: Collector Car Insurance?
Ask Tammy...she does ALL insurance !!

Re: Collector Car Insurance?
If you have a collector auto policies most include some coverage for spare parts. This is usually $500. Your home policy will likely cover these items as part of your contents coverage similiar to having tools.

Homeowners will not cover anything automotive. |
