What do you have that came from them?
I do have a Buildsheet from a 1970 Chevelle from there.

Yes they were in the Yenko network. I believe they actually sold a few Yenko cars too.

Re: tamson chevrolet in va.

Marlin stated this a few years ago on here.
Tamson sold 6 1970 deuces, 4 survive, 2 are gone.
J&W Nova Parts in Danville, VA have 3 of the Tamson cars, all a/t's, one of which is Forest Green, original paint and stripes and is kept in their showroom. The 4th is also in Danville, and is owned by the owner of a car lot. This 4th deuce has an interesting story to it. The car was originally red, however the first owner wanted a blue one - so the dealership apparently repainted it blue, without the Yenko stripes re-installed! Not something you hear about every day!

Then this from Kevin Hand:
The 4th deuce is owned by a close friend and painted its original color after a 4 yr frame off resto. It is back to it original color , red. Documented and still in the city it was sold in. Bought yrs. ago from original owners son for pennies on the dollar.

Re: tamson chevrolet in va.

According to my files, Tamson was one of only 2 Yenko network dealers in the entire state of Virginia. Colonial Chevrolet was the other.

Because Colonial had an exclusive agreement w/ Yenko and SPAN Inc. to be the sole distributor of Yenko Deuces within the Virgina Beach area.

Bingo!! I knew you two were - but those old jokers in the back of the room were busy drawing all over some poor sap's new book https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

What was the next closest dealer to that range in the sales agreement?

My Geography skills aren't the greatest, but I'll guess Lustine Chevrolet in Hyattsville MD.

Re: tamson chevrolet in va.

Mine aren't either, but the dealer list I have been assembling over the years puts Bill Geringer Chev. in Apex, NC as pretty close too? Otherwise, it's Lustine https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: tamson chevrolet in va.

Boy i wish i was there Marlin to hear that info but i was always late for school https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif.The orig owner of my 68 ss car
said the day he went to pick it up the salesman took him for a ride in a 68 ss 427 prepped car to try and pursuade him to up-grade to the $600 427 pkg but he said that thing was a animal and barley streetable, said that he test drove a 68 l79 car but even then rumors of the 327,s demise were told to him by the salesman so he opted for the new 350/295 hp with the 4spd and the 12 bolt 355 rear https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif p.s iam asking for pics he took a pic of his new car at the dealer and said he belives the 427 car was in the background . https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Nice!
Tamson sold a lot of cool stuff, including one of the '69 ZL1's I believe. I been to Danville, VA - it's a neat little town, any muscle car would be well known in the area.

Re: tamson chevrolet in va.

I wonder if anyone has any info on what a Tamson conversion included? Just listening to that post " But that animal was barley streetable" That sounds like an L-88 swap not just a L-72.
Did any of these cars survive?

Does anyone know of one??
Enquirering(sp?) minds want to know!

Sorting a bunch of stuff in my system, this ZL1 Newspaper Ad best landed here.
The Tamson ZL1 reportedly exists today, love to hear more also where it is now?
:beers:
